Right down the road Don, if you need something simple like oil change don't get ripped off, bring it by.
We were already planning a wrenching day in December anyways.
But BodyMotion has a good reputation too
Thanks for the offer Quadcammer, will take you up on it if something comes up, just did my own oil change. One reason for the question is I'm trying to decide if I should have the IMS done or not?
Don
I think 06 cars have the bigger IMS bearing.. and needs more work to replace (unlike 05 and 996 cars). Also, I believe those have a much lower failure rates than the smaller bearing in the early 05 cars.
In any case, I'd wait until the more experienced members chime in
Dont mean to hijack -but being most of you are Jersey guys -has anyone ridden the Parkway south lately from about Clark down to AC? I did it last night to spend with my wife who was at a conference at the Borgata in my 2005 (larger bearing lol) C2 to stretch its legs. Left about 6:30 -traffic was nominal once over the bridge and then even more so toward shore points, but man o man the road is glass smooth and has been widened. It is like the worlds longest race track. It was difficult keeping it under 90mph, at times downed shifted and got it to 110 very briefly. Once i did it and passed an unmarked Crown Vic - as soon as I did his flashing red light came on, I slowed and he just passed me and honked-phew; that actually happend to me once or twice befroe- maybe they respect a guy lettin' his Porsche air out a bit-or just lucky. Anyway if you get the chance take that ride it is amazing in the Porsche, hard to describe but you really feel the car on a road like that at speed, but be careful. If I was in my dd '15 Jag XF it would definitely not have been as much fun.
Not sure your getting it Quad-when was the last time you drove it with minimal traffic or even at night. The parkway has subtle curves to it which is what makes it nice to wind out the motor a bit, it is not precisely straight. Also, you just appreciate the feeling of the car and sound of the engine as well as the reponsiveness of the engine on the road at 70mph+ which you can't do on a twisty mounatin road or a bumpy one. It is just more satisfying to drive at 70-75 than my luxury car at the same speed with an occasional downshift and a few second blast off / passing of another vehicle. Of course their is the chance of being pulled over, but as long as you were not crazy fast or wreckless, or impaired, etc - otherwise what is the sense?
