So the new wheels is a 997.2 wheel as opposed to a 991 wheel?

I thought the 997.2 wheels looked a little different, but Ive googled some images and actually found this same wheel on both late 997.2 and early 991 so i guess its a crossover wheel??IDK, but It really changed the whole look of the car, and was totally worth it, The airbag unfortunately was I think almost 600 with shipping, but I had to buy a new airbag anyway and the wheel itself was pretty cheap, and looks mint. I would say go for it, you'd be happy you did. plus i bet you can sell your good airbag and wheel and not be out too much. I'm not positive, but I think any non paddle shift wheel should work.

Most people have run into the issue of inoperable horns when upgrading to the 997.2 or 991 wheels on their 997.1s or 997.2s.

The fix is, supposedly, to purchase a 997.2 or 991 steering wheel module, and have the car coded to accept the 997.2 or 991 wheel AND steering wheel module. It doesn't make sense to me either, but what you are telling me is, at least for your 2008 C2, that the 991 wheel swap is plug-and-play?

I have an identical 987.2 non-multifunction wheel I'm looking to swap into my base 2006 C2 and I'm wondering if the swap would also be plug-and-play for me as well.

i looking to swap to the 997.2 multifunction wheel as well but i am pretty certain (from my friends who have done it) that you need new module and coding.

to the OP does your horn work? and have you used a durametric pro/piwis/autologic to see if any of your modules are throwing any codes at all?

This wheel had this in the description:
Up for Sale is a 991, 987, 997.2, 981 Porsche Steering Wheel. And it seems to fit and work perfectly in my 08.

I think different looking wheels, paddle shifting wheels, and multi-function wheels must be more specific to a certain model and be the ones causing issues.

The PDK shifters work fine with my tip. And I don't know why there would be trouble with the horn as it's just a ground wire connected to the airbag. When the airbag is pushed and touches the metal of the steering wheel, the circuit is complete. Some other wheels must have a more complicated horn setup. Idk

I think you'll be fine, esp if you are swapping wheel and matching airbag like me. Give it a shot, it's honestly a 10 min job. At least pop off your air bag and take a look. There's 1 bolt 12mm multi star. Remove it the and wheel comes right off. Try the new one, if it dosnt fit and work, swap back. I promise it's a simple process and you don't even need to be mechanically inclined. Look under your wheel for a little hole. Push something like an Allen key up and toward the airbag, and it pops off. Then disconnect harness, then remove wheel with one bolt. Lmk how it goes.

K, I have my 997.2 sport non-multifunction wheel complete with airbag sitting in a protective shoe bag in my closet right now. You are more than welcome to fit it to your Raby car. After installing my Cup Car wheel I can tell you that the harness mounting clip is slightly different from the 997.1. My 2012 997.2 has wiring that is similar to the 991.1 after seeing the wiring diagram. Very odd. So the physical clip may fit but the wiring may be different. We can check it out. It goes into storage (with the wheel) on Oct 28. Ping me next weekend and we'll meet up. Sry to jack this thread. On mobile.

I got theses from China for 300.00 the depot and dectane cost double.and I had these same angel eyes knock offs on my 996 and never had an issue. I've read that the depots and dectane tend to have bulb issues. Plus, I honestly think these look better.

I would love the diagrams from you. And I will pm you asap, can't ever figure it out from my phone.
