Tint R&R?
Hi guys:
Just wondering if anyone here has experience having prior window tint removed and replaced without damage to the factory defroster lines, etc.
The 997TT I recently purchased has tint all around, but the back window simply isn't clear. Its not that the tint has any bubbling or is visibly cloudy, but when driving (especially at night with headlight glare), there is almost this artifact of the defroster lines running vertically on the rear window. I am not doing a good job describing it but, but bottom line, I am considering having it removed/replaced. I have thoroughly cleaned the outside and inside of the window and even "ceri-glassed" the rear just in case. No real change.

With a steamer it should come off without any issues. Work slow when peeling and then have some citrus based cleaner on hand (like Goo Gone) to clean off the remaining adhesive. I've done it a few times and never had an issue. Using a steamer is key.

I'll probably leave as-is for now but it is annoying. Also, the "splotchiness" around the raised black dots is a bit bothersome (around back window and rear quarter panel windows).
I have a steamer, plenty of windex, and likely the capability to do it myself but it is like $100 or something like that to have a "professional" remove it, that is a no brainer. And then they can re-tint.
