Default Which Battery

I replaced my stock battery nearly 5 years ago and went with an Interstate battery. I usually like to change my battery every 5 years to be safe. Which battery should I go with, should I stick with the Interstate? The shop where I bought the Interstate now only sell Napa. Are the Napa batteries crappy? Anything else I should try?

Interstate, Duralast, Maxx, Bosch are all good alternatives - get size H7/94R.

You can buy batteries from anywhere, EXCEPT the dealership!
I go with Maxx from Walmart all the time, for all my vehicles.

I like the sealed AGM batteries and buy Optimas for all my replacements - no maintenance, nice and compact, and you don't have to worry about a vent line. You'll need the 34R as that one has the posts reversed (that's what the R stsnds for. It's not a direct fit though - the mount needs to be done a bit differently. I have them in both my '05s and on one of them, it left me enough space to install the control box and external compressor for the Cargraphic AirLift system.

I went bosch but did not buy from the dealer. You get an amazing warranty - after 3 years - one cell went bad and they replaced the whole battery with no proof of purchase.

Nice, wish I knew about that at the time. I just removed my OEM plate, gave it a quick clean-up and coating of Eastwood's Battery Tray Coating acid-neutralizing paint, which I bought when doing my 914 and had some leftover, (don't think they make it any longer), figured out how to use the existing hold down lip and then adapted a metal hold down angle I had laying around.

At some point I had also purchased a nice billet Optima Battery Mount from DMP Fasterners that I ended up using in my 928 Spyder when restoring/upgrading it.

Neither of the batteries even wiggle.
