Default Reinstalling fuel door hinge spring

Hi -

The fuel door hinge spring somehow came off of my fuel door. F308gt4 was kind enough to send me a picture of his spring in this thread:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...-gas-door.html

but I can not seem to get the spring to stay in place.

Even after looking at this parts diagram located here:

http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...=99750471100#a

I am still at a loss....I wonder if there is some sort of clip built into the hinge that I can't see that holds the spring in place...any ideas welcome.

thanks!

it just clips on, the hook to the tabs. either you arent pushing it on good enough or the hook are bent off or the tabs are broken off

I will give it another go - will push in on harder but i bet that if there are tabs they are broken off as there doesn't seem to be anything for the hooks on the spring to catch on.
