for certain?
when i helped my friends 06, and 09 911's we did have to do the cluster pullout in addition to the reset function. we used durametric pro cable. on my car being an 05 it worked fine without cluster fuse pull out.

So I changed my oil but cant clear the "Service Now" light
2 local shops did not know how to clear it.
Called the local Porsche Dealer, they say clearing the light takes 45 minutes and cost $140.
WTF?????
Anyone know of a reasonable option here in the Rhode Island area??

45 min? What a joke! Stay away from this dealership! Try to call a VW dealer if you have one near by.

My indie does service light resets for $25. I'm just a consumer trying to keep as much of my money in my pocket as I can.
Good Luck.

I also had the service light re-set but at the dealership. I only change the oil, not a full service etc, but I find out the cost of light re-set before I serviced the car for the first time. For a $ 150.00 as some members has mentioned may as well let them change the oil for $ 200.00 +.......

I refuse to pay a dealership any more than say $20 to do this so I just live with it. It's aggrevating as hell.

So much misinformation in this thread. Good Lord this place has gone downhill.
Go to the dealer, find an advisor and just ask. We don't charge (Porsche dealership) and it takes 5 minutes. There is no fuse to pull out and never has been. Granted, I used the correct tool. Some guy said to buy a regular code reader which won't do it either.
If your dealer won't do it, call another.

Looks like a good tool to have.
What is the difference between the 287.00 and the 347.00 units.
Also looks like a "professional" unit at 675.00 and up.
Am I good with the 287.00 unit?
O7 997 Carrera Cab.
Thanks

The difference in the 287 and 347 unit on pelican is that the more expensive on is good for all models and comes with an additional adapter while the cheaper one is only good on OBDII cars, or 1996 and newer.

The difference between the enthusiast and Pro is that the Pro can be used on an unlimited number of vehicles while the enthusiast can only be used on 3. The pro also has additional capabilities like 'programming' or 'coding' that appears to benefit the 997.1 crowd more than the 997.2 crowd. If there are more differences, someone else will have to fill you in.

Thanks for the fast response. Sounds like a well worth it tool to have.
I will do some research on the pro tool. Might be worth it if I can do some mods.
