Philster has a scientific experiment going on here so my question to you my friend....with those kinds of stats, I am hoping that those results in 0% were past mistakes that you wont make again I say that while you are dating because clearly if she was a keeper, the girl not the car, then 0% just means she didnt deserve a second date
Lahainabry, hey pal.....yes I agree with your perception but possibly its more of a CA thing since we all know California in general is pretty shallow....or maybe a better way to look at it, California also has a lot of car loving people, men and women. I am married and I have had the same thing happen with this car. Before the 911, we were still strictly German, other Porsche's, BMW, Audi and MB but only guys would come up to talk shop. Our house is in Mission Viejo, before was Irvine and while both cities have a lot of nice cars, just not as many 911s running around on a given day like over where you are in NPB.
Oh and I have the windows tinted to keep the interior cool when I am driving it but to keep anyone from seeing my wife, when my wife is driving....
I meet the same variety of women and first dates are the same style of casual food and a couple of drinks.
Right now I am down to three vehicles, but one in light resto mode.
Been chatting with a nice woman... date tonight... sushi and drinks... and it's the GTI or Porsche... and the aerokit prevents me from going many places, so not knowing all details of the roads and parking lot means I am taking the GTI (2015).
I am very happily married, so it doesn't matter, but I have noticed that I get no more attention in my Porsche from the ladies than I got in any of my previous cars. Kids notice the Porsche more than my previous S2000, but that's about the only change.
My '67 Mustang gets the most comments and conversation. Unfortunately, everyone wants to tell me about the one that they used to have--which is always a long story and never amounts to anything interesting.
My '78 Ford F-100 gets the most interest from old black guys.
The S2000 got the most interest from twenty-something white guys who were into ricers and who were always disappointed with my lack of knowledge of the ricer scene.
But it didn't matter whether I was driving a flashy car or a beat-up sled, I got second dates whenever I wanted them. I never noticed a correlation there.
When I first bought the Porsche, I used to kid my wife about the women really loving the car. One day we stopped at a convenience store and walked in separately for some reason. Within my wife's hearing, the lady at the counter did compliment my car and even asked for a ride someday. I just smiled and when she smiled back at me both her teeth showed!
My wife still picks on me about the kind of women that the car attracts.
I've noticed a difference in attention between my Audi, BMW, VW and the 997. I definitely get more stares than I've ever gotten in the other cars. All of my cars are lowered, aftermarket wheels so maybe tha'ts why. Even my friends that have ridden with me have noticed it and commented. I've even seen the same women on my morning commute and have received different attention depending on which car I was in. Kind of funny. I guess my skinny a** gains weight depending on the car I'm in. LOL
The one thing I have noticed the most is them trying to look into the car to see who's driving when they pull up beside me. Like someone above, I look like I graduated college/grad school but I'm in my early early 40s. My girl friend/future wife thinks it's funny when it happens.
