Default New baby in the garage....

Just upgraded from my 996 C4S Cab to this 2009 S Cab. I had been looking for the right car for some time and found this one with pretty much all the options I was looking for. Really loving all the upgrades and have been spending lots of time in the 997 section trying to absorb as much as possible.

That's hot...

Question: You had a 996 cab, now the 997. Is the 997 even stiffer (more rigid) ? I can't get over how stiff ours is with the top down. I have never owned any platform as stiff, period.

She looks show-room clean! I'm sure you did your DD and scored a HR!

The best 997 wheels, too.

I only drove this one about 100 miles so far, but yes, body feels very rigid. It definitely drives and even handles differently from my C4S but I am not sure if i have a handle on all the differences yet. One difference I have noticed is in the clutch. I had replaced the clutch/pressure plate in my 996 when I did the IMS upgrade and the new clutch in that car was lighter and take-up was smoother. This one is a bit stiffer and not quite as smooth. Not sure if this one is worn a bit or if that is a characteristic of the 997. Maybe someone can help me with that one.

From a non-driving perspective, the interior is light-years better - more modern, and the materials including the leather are better quality. Also, I have heard complaints about the nav, but it is fine - actually much better than the nav in our 4 year old Benz.

Where'd you find her? I'm hoping to find something similar.

Beautiful! Congrats.
The red stitching looks really great.
Just as an FYI; there was a forum member selling OEM red stitching parts on the classifieds in case you needed to add or change any parts.
