New to Rennlist and a 2005 997 911! Finally got my dream car since the age of 4! Well its not a turbo or a GT3 but its close enough for now. After driving it almost a month the air bag light came on. I have always done basic diagnoses and maintenance on all my other vehicles in the past but I am a little overwhelmed by this 911. I purchased the Durametric software/cable and got 3 codes(80BA, C152, and C140). I reset the codes and the 80BA code came back immediately. The 80BA code description in the Durametric software is Triggering unit faulty. My interpretation is a bad sensor or connection to a sensor or the airbag module. I am hesitant to start tooling around on this 911 before I get some feedback. I emailed Durametric and they said to get a workshop manual to find out more details about the code. I purchased a Porsche Workshop Manual off ebay in .pdf format but it does not list any fault codes in the 5,222 pages.

Is there a repair manual that lists out fault codes and possible problems related to the codes?

Also My 911 has 59k on it and has never had the clutch replaced. As soon as it starts slipping I plan on having the clutch, IMS bearing(LM Engineering retro-fit), and Air oil Separator replaced. Any recommendations on a good trusting shop in Fort worth or Dallas Texas will be much appreciated!

What sort of 997 did you buy? Tell us about it and post a photo! If you post your codes on renntech.com Loren can usually provides some details.

I'm sure that you meant an LN retrofit IMS bearing. You probably know that MY05 cars are a bit of mystery regarding the IMS bearing. Some are replaceable, some are not.

Thanks! Its just a well equipped 911 not an S or anything special. Does have some cosmetic and misc. upgrades but mainly stock. It has SpeedTech cat back exaust, Eibach springs, lowered .75" in the back 1" in the front, GT3 front skin, K&N intake, short through shifter, and all the lights have been upgraded to LED's

I have been told by the previous owner that the number on the engine suggests that the IMS Bearing can not be replaced. I'm crossing my fingers and will have whoever does the clutch check at that time.

Default first porsche

If I were in Dallas I would want to start a relationship with RUF Auto Centre.

Congrats! Looks like you have a C6 Grand Sport as well, they make quite the combo for your garage!

Very clean ride. Love the wheels. Interesting front bumper. Looks like an Aero kit style bumper with some extra flair on the side.

Welcome Mark! We have a connection, b/c you are the guy that snagged this beauty right before me. A tastefully modded base and the price was RIGHT! I ended up stretching my budget a bit as a result, but got the 911S of my dreams! Happy motoring!

Wow! Small World...I was also looking for a S and was not even considering a Base until I ran across this one.

Can I see some pictures of your S?
