Thanks Psymon. For some reason, I can't get that FVD link to work here in U.S. I'll keep trying...

In my first post, I had the below link to a Riad wheel that apparently was re-branded by Cavallo. It seems that you're correct that the Riad wheel is used as a core for many other finishing companies.

I think the Dallas or DCT Wheels look like a nice upgrade. Those others look the the wheel from a 80's Audi 5000.

Why not try and grab OE sport wheel?

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks PKF I've bought from Gert a few times, I agree that he's excellent. If I go with the Riad wheel, I'll get it from him.

HB, funny about the Audi 5000-- my dad had that car and I remember the steering wheel! Obviously the wheel is just a personal taste issue, but I find the OEM wheels too large, particularly after fattening the grip. I had a fattened OEM wheel in my last 911-- I felt like it visually took the whole dash (IMO). (Remember the 1980s Mercedes SLs-- they had a steering wheel the size of large pizza.) I prefer a smaller, thicker wheel than OEM. The GT3 Cup wheel (320mm) size is perfect but no airbag. The Riad is 340mm, a very nice size. The OEM is about 380mm.

Has anyone attempted to install the new multi function sport wheel with paddles? New airbag to. It looks like this wheel will be in the 991.2

Someone did it to a Cayman 987.2 PDK, so I think should be possible on a 997.2?!

Err, I didn't even think about the new sport steering wheel multi function. I swapped to flappy paddles a couple of months ago.

Well at least I didn't have to buy an airbag.

I just watched the video. It looks like the multi function doesn't work. What's the point of that?

I need a smaller steering wheel so I can position it lower and still be able to use the clutch pedal without my knee hitting it. Right now, it's too high and I have to reach for the wheel. I am hoping the new GT4 steering wheel will fit my 997.2 GTS as it is smaller in diameter. My dealer's parts department said this part is still not listed in their book, and he is going to call me as soon as he gets the specs.

I had the same question as well. May be he just wanted the new design? May be he had the stock wheel with button that he hated so much and just wanted to switch to a wheel with flappers (like I did), and didn't originally have the multifunction option? Or may be he just hasn't gone to the dealer for additional coding (which I think is required).

The wheel does look nice though!
