Default Steering wheels ..

I give up. I can't get the stupid plastic steering wheel trim off a 997.2. So, I wanted to swap my volume/phone/radio control trim panel into an alcantara wheel but just can't do it. So, my choices are:

1 - Alcantara wheel with no controls.
2 - Black leather wheel with controls.

Really wanted to move the controls over.

You can't buy an alcantara wheel with controls? What about having your existing wheel recovered in alcantara?

What trim piece? The "spokes"?

I already have two alcantara gt3 wheels. The 997.2 doesn't have those 3 tabs that were in the 997.1 sport wheel. This thing is infinitely harder to remove.

Can't wrap wheel unless that front trim comes off anyway. Also worried about prying too much for fear of damaging the electronics for the controls either.

I've seen some documentation for a PDK wheel but a none PDK wheel seems worse in terms of finding leverage points.

So ... I'm stuck.... For now.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I think the PDK wheel is actually easier. Once you remove the PDK button you have a better leverage point to get the sides off. The non-PDK wheel seems like it really just doesn't want to budge.
