Zymol is made in Brockville FL...I've been there. I've spoken to the owner at length as he was starting a musical instrument product care line.

Did YOU used to work for Zymol? I doubt it.

Another one of your typical posts.

Oh you did?

Another reason why you should have been put on ignore ages ago.

Yes my husband was the west coast regional sales manager. He knows exactly how much bs goes into the ingredients in producing their product.

please feel free to ignore me. the feeling is mutual.

Whether on not one chooses to use one of the AutoGeek products, there is lot of information on their site about the difference between waxes, polishes, polymers, and what can go over what and what doesn't work well with other products. Me, I am a polymer man.

I can remember the exhausting Simonize stuff on my dad's '57 Imperial when I was a lad. Modern coatings are vastly easier and better than what we had many long years ago. My dad bought also Turtle Wax in the glass bottle back then too.

All the best....

I used the Zymol Carbon on my C2S about a year ago and was very pleased with the results. Even the normal oil dirt that tends to accumulate on the back of our cars after a highway drive was beading up into little black dots. That car isn't driven much and always garages but it's still smooth to the touch and water beads on it. I used the other blue Zymol cleaner wax on my wife's car and it lost its smoothness after about a month. Redid hers with the Carbon and it has been much better and longer lasting.

I like Star brite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF. Holds a shine, bug guts and bird poo don't stick to treated surfaces and it beads like crazy.

Use what makes you happy. Choosing a polish - or a wax - is a personal thing.

Well, not really. A polish in and of itself, is just that - it polishes, or otherwise flattens, by abrasion, a surface, meaning it has some abrasive qualities.

A wax is meant to fill in the microscopic valleys in your paint, making the surface appear level, without abrasion.

I used to detail cars as a kid in high school, and I almost exclusively used Four Star products since they were local at the time (Sarasota, FL), and they gave me discounts and lots of free samples since my father did a lot of business with them.

My car is a daily driver, so I like to use the Optimum Wax. Easy on, and lasts a decent amount of time. Since its so easy to use (just spray on and wipe off), I tend to wax it more often. Been using it on my cars for several years now.

I haven't been overly thrilled with my zymol experiences. My Porsche is red, but I use it on my GTI DD. I don't think it looks all that great, but it is pretty durable. I use the HD Cleanser beforehand as well.

HD Cleanse works, but imo was always overly difficult to use. It really is a horror getting that stuff off.

Default Zymol Carbon Wax

I'm thinking it's an over exaggeration to say that Zymol Carbon isn't a quality product. I think it may be expensive, but if I'm spending a few hours to wax my car, I don't mind spending <$5 on the materials to wax it. (Amortizing the cost of Zymol Carbon over the number of waxings it will provide.) We'll see if I'm singing the same tune after a few more months. I'm definitely interested in sealants and think I'll try Ammo NYC out next, Larry has incredible YouTube videos.

As you say, any wax/polish can provide a great shine with the necessary preparation, but the question is how long does that great shine last? I don't want to put in multiple hours of wax-on/wax-off only to have the shine fading in a couple of weeks.

I have used Zaino products exclusively for the last 10 years and their product's durability and longevity keep me as a loyal customer.

I last waxed my 993 about 1.5 years ago. Still beads, but it also sits in the garage most of the time.
