Unless OEM, SKIP!!! Look at those pics posted... kinda horrendous!
Also, in general, Alcantara should be done only in some trims... I loathe all Alcantara. I have Steering wheel, gear shift, and handbrake, plus seat inserts. That's it! If I was to do more, would do center console cover (OEM) and be done with it.

Personally. I don't like alcantara. I see the benefits on the steering wheel, shift **** and seats in a track car. I have no problem with it there. Anywhere else, I just don't like it. It looks to me like it should be hanging on the wall with an Elvis picture on it.

I can see your point....certainly not perfect. I showed you the worst areas pretty clearly in full sunlight. I will go back and reglue the edges that need it, and I'm going to try the stitching again. That was harder than I expected to get straight, even stitches. I think it will look much better when I'm done. Heck, I still have over a yard left!
This isn't a $100k Porsche and I am pretty happy with the results.
I get a lot of enjoyment from doing the mods myself.

Georound, you win the award for dedication and patience. That must have taken a lot of time and concentration: good for you! An immediate advantage for many of the areas you worked on: not much direct hand contact, so the material shouldn't soil or wear off the way Alcantara wheels and seats do.

So, I'm in the process of changing out some trim to Alcantara plus perhaps painting a few pieces here and there. Chances are it will all look like crap when I'm done but I enjoy experimenting ...
Anyway, for those of you with Alcantara (glovebox or anywhere else ... steering wheel/knee trim) is there any cushion to it? Our vinyl has a bit of give to it.
What's the plan of action here? Strip of the vinyl and glue on the Alcantara or is there something else that needs to be done. I can't imagine applying the Alcantara over existing vinyl.
Thoughts?
