I know how you feel. 7 years I bought my 996 C4 factory Aero. I had the car for 1 month and in rush hour traffic on 465 in Indy I notice a white Olds speeding up and slamming on the brakes several times behind me. I noticed the driver, a young woman texting looking up and down while driving. Traffic started again and then came to a stand still. I was watching my mirrors as I realized she was coming in for a hit. I was tagged hard and then got pushed into a Cadillac. The hit was hard enough to throw me into the windshield and knocked the battery enough to knock a cable off. The car was dead in the middle of whizzing cars going by. The Caddy driver pulled over and helped me out of the car. I had a mild concussion. The Olds driver pulled over too but only for a few moments then she took off never to be found. My insurance covered a $12K bill. It sucked. Sorry it happened to you but am glad you are ok!

Very sorry to hear about your car.

This is probably a good reminder to check on how much uninsured motorist coverage we all have on our auto policies.

Condolences on your baby...but she can be replaced.

Please take care of yourself and I hope that you get back in the saddle ASAP!

that is definitely a write off.

again, to the OP all things considered things could have been much worse and we are thankful you are able to be sharing us your story and warning us to stay alert on the roads.

as for the woman who caused the accident with no insurance, that is crazy.

+1. If she don't have insurance she shouldn't be driving. Luckily no one was badly hurt.

The running bothers me more than the insurance. She had no way of knowing if Bigwave was alive or dead or in immediate need of aid and she did not care.

I have read that something like 25% of the cars out on the road here in SC are without insurance. And many that do, have only the minimum state required liability, and no other protection. When I look around me at the old, worn out cars on the road, I just know they are uninsured. So it is essential to have good Uninsured Motorist Coverage. And have your coverage with a company you believe will stand by you. I have had USAA for over a half century, with one house fire, one car fire, and a few minor claims and was always well provided for.

All of us are glad you were not badly injured. Your accident is a good example of why I rarely drive our GT3 in city traffic. Just too many distracted or dangerous drivers out there. I try to stick to roads where there is far less danger to me and our car.

All the best...

So if the woman that hit him has a GOP voter registration card with her it would be OK then? Get over the Obama hate already...Hit and runs don't happen in Red States? Perhaps you can tie this to Benghazi? Or Jade Helm? BTW I'm Independent.
