Default First 911: new to me 997.1 Targa 4S

Just wanted to introduce myself here. Have been a lurker while on the hunt for a well-equipped Targa 4S and am now a few weeks into owning this Arctic Silver over black specimen. Its got 30k on the clock and seems to have most, if not all, options (6-spd, sport exhaust, sports chrono, sport seats and PASM). So far the only mod I have done is swap for Dectane rear LEDs (not pictured) and a considering swapping for an Alpine aftermarket unit.

Congrats. Looks lovely. Show some more pics with the aftermarket lights and even more so - the Alpine unit.
Considering a Targa myself, really like the utility of the roof.

Congrats...normally not a fan of the Targas but like your color combo. Enjoy her for the summer.

Congratulations! I'm a new Targa 4S owner myself. They are awesome cars.

Congratulations. I bought my first 911 last year and it was also a Targa 4s. Love it and still get excited driving it. Enjoy!

Love it! Love Targas. Why would anyone not like a Targa?

I also have a 997.1 Targa 4S. Dectane tails, LED DRLs, Atlas Grey on Black. I thought the hatchback was a little gimmicky until I owned one--I use it all the time.

I have the roof open as much as possible (not as often as I like since I live in Seattle area).

I do have to agree with others' complaints--roof rattle--but it does not detract from how much I love the car. There is a thread describing a proedure for lubricating the roof to stop the rattle, but I didn't have much success. I am going to try it again.

I also like the uniqueness.

I also want to see the head unit. I am going to look into getting one, because it seems the easiest way to get a back-up camera.

Argh, you had to say that. I'm not happy with the rattling and creaking of my coupe, so maybe my dream 997 ISN'T a 2012 Targa 4S

Don't want to jinx it but I have zero rattling or noise. Maybe the previous owner addressed it.. I'm in Texas and have the roof open daily and love the hatchback for golfclubs and running errands. It's a lot more practical than I thought. I have a gremlin in my radio that frequently changes the station so I will be doing the alpine mod. Pictures to come...

I like that these are unique and believe they will retain value better (i.e depreciate slower), simply because there are so few of them.
