I know I've heard his name before and yep, the guy with the red clown car. I assumed, by your comment, he won a lawsuit or something, as to why CarMax wouldn't allow anyone to purchase their warranty. But I didn't run across it.

But CarMax does offer the 5yr/75k+ mile warranty on ALL of the vehicles in their inventory.

I got it form Town Porsche. Much cheaper then Jack Daniels and Paul Miller. Got the 5 yr/60k plan platinum. Basically covered for anything bad.

If you going to Town ask for Miguel. Good guy.

Also your plan will depend on mileage...I had very low miles and my car was clean via their PPI.

Lastly...negotiate. Its a profit product for them...the range delta I got alone between 3x Porsche dealers with the same policy was huge.

I bought Easy Care from The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills, CA. They had four levels from 1. for the engine, to 4. for bumper to bumper. I chose 2. The engine, trans, and fuel system. $2500 for 3/yr 36K miles. I just got in under the model year limitation. My car is an 03 996...but it still qualified. Haven't used it yet...and that is good news. I have made a couple of repairs not under the warranty but I felt that anyone who buys an eleven or twelve year old car should expect to have window regulator fail or for the car to need bushings sooner or later.

Just purchased a Fidelity Platinum warranty from Scottsdale Porsche for my 997. $3,960 for 5 years/60,000 miles.

I've never bought an extended warranty I anything that I can recall. But I'm thinking of getting a Transmission warranty. Do you guys just call random dealers to get a quote?
