Default Nav Not Working

Have a 2006 Porsche C4S Cabrio. The navigation seems to be on the blink. The DVD is in the reader, and when I enter a destination, the map never refreshes to show my starting point. Is there an easy fix before I take it to a dealer?

DVD inserted correctly? Is it upside down? door closed?
I.T. would say reboot the system.
You phone has better navigation than a 2006 map.
I appreciate your desire for it to work, but don't spend any money or it...

If the screen is showing something, you might just need to reboot as the previous poster said. For BMW there's a sequence of buttons you hold down to do that. For the PCM, I'm assuming there is something similar.

If the screen is blank and doesn't power up, you might be out of luck and have to replace the whole PCM. The P-Dealer won't fix it, they'll replace it.

The last place I would go is the dealer. Try a mobile electronics custom shop. They may know how to reboot and they'll prob try to sell you on an aftermarket install.

Default Don't Fix

Thanks, BIG Smoke, for some sound advice!
No built-in nav is not a deal breaker.

Default New Battery

Hmmmmm....
I recently replaced the battery because the old one was not holding a charge.
This might have messed things up with the nav.
Will dive into the PCM manual to see if it can shed any light.

There's a little check box in one of the menus that says something like "view destination". If that is checked, the screen will just show your destination and now your current location. I'll take a look at my nav system and confirm this.
