Rebadging thoughts appreciated
I replaced my Carrera S badging when my S got scuffed with 911 S in chrome finish from Suncoast (my car's black).
I know it comes down to personal preference but I think it looks great. I'll take a picture in the morning and post it up. You'd be surprised how much less real estate it covers on the rear deck lid.

I put a Red S on my 2006 Carrera S.
Some people liked it. Some people didn't. I thought it looked great.

Going against the grain it seems... here's my version... I think the red plays nicely with the caliper and the taillights:

The red S "worked" on your 2006 car because it complimented red tail lights. Because the OP blacked out his tail lights, there is nothing else red on the rear of the car for the red S to compliment.

Yep, I'll have to ay that black works the best with the blacked out look you have going.

Three Wheelin'
Too late now but you could have just Plastidipped the "S" in red to see how you liked it. Wives can be fickle about these things. Mine absolutely hated the pictures of the black RS wheels my car came with but after seeing them on the car she changed her mind. Red or black, they both look good!

I like black only for OP's car. The Red S's on the other cars in this thread work because of contrast (on the black car), and the surrounding red tail and brake lights on the silver car.
All look good to me.

Your wife is spot on. This is precisely why Rolls Royce years ago dropped the red background for their RR symbols--the red was found to clash with certain colors of their automobiles. (It wasn't done in honor of the death of one of the brothers, as was commonly thought). Black is just simpler, and attracts less attention. If you want even less attention, go with a matching color, like several of us have done over the years.
