Default HELLO!

Long time lurker/troll finally found the one!-997.1 C2S in spectacular condition! First and foremost! Why oh y did we wait so long?! Wifey n I r just having a blast! Ok so let us not get too carried away here- still need new front brakes and battery per ppi. I ve read threads on here about changing rotors and pads together regardless but from a daily driver application (no track) is it absolutely necessary to change rotors when you change pads even though rotors still have life? Feedback much appreciated! So excited about new purchase wifey n i cant sleep!

Cheers to Deutschin it up!

Default HELLO!

Congrats! First order of business is to post pics.
If there's life left on your rotors as you say and PPI has determined, simply change the pads.

Here's a great DIY YouTube link from a fellow Rennlister:

It's always good to change out pads and rotors at the same time just so you get even wear on the pads. Most shops recommend doing both at the same time. We also have a great amount of DIY Tech Articles that may help answer any questions you may have with your newly purchased vehicle.

I use dedicated track pads sonic swapping back and forth fairly often. It's a 30 minute job on your own. If your car is an S model the pads kid from the top and it's very easy. Run the rotors until they're toast. Just properly bed in the new pads and you're fine.

I recognize those pics from a recent private party ad. It caught my eye because of the low price. Glad to see it went to another Rennlist member. Mind if I ask how much you ended up paying?

Beautiful backdrop for an even more beautiful 997!

Hella-buggin- Thanks for the advice! Do you feel like you need to bed the pads each time you switch from syreet pads to your track pads and vice versa?
