if one tallies up some of the complaints /worries it is clear why they are parked
..........just to cite a few excuses....i just washed/waxed my car,my car needs to be washed/waxed,my IMS might fail,i need porsche windshield washer fluid,i over filled the oil by 3 cc,s,i have not got back my oil report, havent inspected my oil filter,i have to wait until my gas station gets fresher high test,my coolant cap is old,i cant find distilled water,i do not want to get my 700 dollars TI wheel bolts dirty,my leather interior might get worn, its a lease and i cant put too many miles on it,it sat for 2 weeks so i have to pull the spark plugs and spray the cylinders with oil before i crank it over,it might rain, ice age is coming, the planets are not in alignment ,i have to ask my mommie/wife first, cameros are picking on me,i might need a clutch,my back up camera is out of film,my park assist is not working,my nav isnt working and i may get lost,my racing attire is in the dryer ,waiting for clear lens,i cant find euro spec oil................etc

I drive mine 2 to 3 times a week, my round trip to and from work is only 22 miles, just say I drive it 3 times a week, times 52 weeks, it's still less than 3,500 miles a year. I rotate between my 997 and my 981. If I'm honest, my Boxster with the top down is more fun driving to and from work. Now if I have an open road with no speed limit. I'll probably take my 997, 5 days a week. Weekends are for family fun, I have 3 small kids and a wife so the minivan gets all the weekend miles. It does snow here in Colorado so my MDX gets some miles during the week as well. With that said, even 3,500 miles a year is hard to achieve.

I drive it everyday in Philly. The potholes sharpen my driving skills. Haven't hit one so far and it looks like a lunar landscape here. Unless they are calling for snow that day I drive it rain or shine, and that's not because of me but the previously mentioned tards on the road in 4wd trucks that think they can go and STOP better than anything else.
You can make all the excuses you want for not driving the car. I find reasons to go drive it.

DD. That's why I bought it. I have owned it 362 days (in 3 days it will be 1 year). I put on almost 15K miles.

I'm waiting for my mid-life crisis to kick in so I can be seen in the Porsche.

Just kidding.

Is it prices and maintanence/repair costs that is making us drive our Porsches less? Porsche now says that the average yearly milage is between six and twelve thousand miles a year.

Sounds like we are paying more and getting less.
A daily drive in your climate may not equate to the daily Nov - Feb drive in mine. Where do you live?

Default Tumbleweeds

I have a variety of excuses. Today's was 25mph sustained winds with 35mph gusts. In the spring the tumbleweeds make their migration and have a habit of scuffing the front bumper and ending up in bits in the radiators. Weak excuse for some, but days like today are why I have a POS pickup for daily use. 997 snug as a bug under it's cover waiting for Wednesday when the rain tonight / tomorrow passes.

13,000 miles in a year and a half and my round trip to work is 20 miles. The car has snow tires on it for the Colorado winter. It's now getting ready for a new Tarett GT front sway bar for the up coming Autocross season with the SCCA plus some other events. This is my 14th year DD a Porsche. When the dealer had my car for the 40,000 miles maintenance they gave me a 2014 large Subaru to drive. All I can say is if I had to drive that to work every day life would suck. Then the wife would get mad at me because I would tell how much that Subaru sucked each day. So the life at home is also better driving a Porsche because the wife is also happier. So life is just better driving a Porsche as a DD.

On my fourth pcar since 02. All have been daily drivers.

To me, garage queens are like marrying a super model and not sleeping with her because you're afraid to wear her out.

I could see not driving a GT model every day, but all other porsche's can and should be driven every day. I think the OP is smoking something
