I would have gone for the $27k engine build for $5k ... Even if you would have to wait a year or two for the car to be finished.

You'd have one hell of a monster high-compression 4.0+ M97 with all the M9x weaknesses addressed, along with ancillaries like Motorsports AOS/Dual Tandem Oil Pickup, Deep Sump, oil cooler, etc.

You have more than one car, why not go that route instead?

I think he meant the insurance company would only put in $5k towards that.

Logan, sorry to hear about your blown engine, that must be a nightmare. What warranty company did you decide to go with and how are they treating you? I am interested in having a safety net like that! Please let me know, thanks and good luck!

Ah, I misread.

I would take your warranty paperwork to an attorney and see what they can do for you, OP.

That would be awesome, I most definitely go that route even if it did take a year. Unfortunately, they only offered 5,000 for the whole engine...

It's all good brother. It's all part of the game. I went with wanted auto protect. They are good, I read a lot of good reviews about them. However, they have tried to get out of this claim, but then I ask myself who wouldn't? I paid 3,000 for the best warranty package. I'm really glad I did.

After this big headache with this car, I might be staying away from 911's for a while. I guess we shall see! Good plan though.

What does that mean, "came through"?

They paid for the entire rebuild, portion of the rebuild, gave you a check?

Well, as much as I fought for an entire rebuild after four months of getting no where, A friend of mine was able to get a used motor pulled from an 06 with 10,000 miles on it. I informed the warranty company of it, and they purchased it....Well it's not exactly what I wanted, but it runs, and I'm okay with it.

Having recently dealt with a blown motor myself, I can relate. I think you came out great, considering the various options. Enjoy the car!

Rebuild and go back to using it as you planned.

I think you did wonderfully, considering the situation. I really thought you were going to get screwed, but you ended up with a 3.8 with a lot lower miles on it than your original.

If you dont mind, can you PM me what the price of the 3.8 was? Just curious.
