I have an STi. Still a boxer motor. Outback is a fine vehicle, but no big motor. If you want the wagon, the Outback is your answer. If you want a wagon and need a wagon and also want the big motor. You will have to look for a STi 5 door.
Not the displacement grumble of the 3.8, but still corners well for a car.

Would you buy a 1st generation NSX though? I would wait a year or two until the bugs are addressed.

I'm hoping to upgrade my 997.1 to a 997 TT or a GTS. Looked at a Aston Martin Vantage...they are yummy too but too big.

the first 91 nsx had very few bugs. snap ring transmission recall, i think that's it.

overall i think honda is pretty good for reliability. first year or not production should be very limited.

Debatable....my first 911 is staying put. I drive a 2013 Cruze LT as a DD, lease is up little less than two years. Debating a 5-series, A6/used A8 or SUV of some kind......OR do I keep the Cruze as DD for a few more years and get a second sports car...thinking Cayman, C7 Z06, 997 Turbo, Viper GTS

Probably some f*cking POS Honda. Oh wait... been there, done that!

991 maybe.

We bought my wife a Buick Lacrosse a little over a year ago, which she really likes. It was the first car purchased from a USA based company in 24 years. In those 24 years we have bought cars from Germany, Japan, and England.

The new Shelby GT350 has my attention too and I love the new Mustang body style. Never cared for any Mustang before. Furthermore, it's the only Ford to have my interest since the Ford GT. But it wouldn't be a replacement for my 997, it would sit along side it - just like the one in your garage pic.

The only cars at the moment that I imagine replacing my 997 are the Mercedes AMG GTS and the 991 GTS. The 991 body style still hasn't grown on me, but I was instantly smitten with the AMG GTS.

I missed out on the WRX hatchbacks. Probably too small anyway.

Outback is the right size for all the junk we buy on weekends. For some reason my wife doesn't want me to use our Odyssey for that kind of duty.

I might just go for cheap and get a 4 cyl Outback. Tragic about the CVT though.

No thoughts at this time of selling the Porsche...but the car I was originally looking for (had to be 1988 or older to import into the US) is a Lancia Delta Integrale...I could live with the 8 valve. However I had to drop that when California made it impossible to register in the state without doing a gray market job on the car (and ruin it). But maybe a Fulvia 1.3 or 1.6 is in the future.

AM V8V in about 20 years when I'm 90 and ready to get out of a sports car. Already sliding in that direction as I moved from a 400 hp RX-7 to a 993TT to a 6GT3 to the 997GTS I now have.

On the family front, once the electrics (Tesla) get to a 500 mile range, one of those.
