Metric wrenches? My guess is that they didn't want to mess with it, there's nothing exotic about our cars. But if I remember correctly, there's not much adjustment in the rear.

Seems like that's really high. My local stealership here in the DC area charges $199 for 911's and I've seen local dealers as low as $129 with a coupon. Shop around a bit you can certainly do better.

I get it free, when I buy tires from the stealership. When buying tires, its possible to negotiate tire rack rate.

My dealer wanted $300 bucks after changing a tie rod. Tried to tell me I need a 4 wheel alignment and camber.
I went to my usual alignment and tire shop and got an alignment done for 80 bucks. Everything else was perfect.
So if it's not too outrageous you can go with dealer, less hassle than trying to make an appointment somewhere else. But if you have a place you prefer and when price difference more than double.....

101 European Automotive. If you are in San Diego you can find them in Solana Beach. Family owned European auto guys.

Other shops quote $400+ around SD. Good luck.

No doubt.. unbelievable deal really. They must have a ton of people that get it and never come back.

There are 5 around town and only 2 will do it. Requirement is the newer no ramp drive on and if you have aftermarket wheels it has to be some newer attachment that is supposedly more accurate and less prown to scratching wheels.

What amazed me was when the tech came out and said, do you want factory spec or something else. In hand he had gt2/3 spec sheets and had recommendations.

Similar story. Paid $200 for local dealer to align 997.2. Steering wheel off centered afterwards. It wasn't before. I complained and after re-alignment they fixed about 90% of the off-center problem. I never received any Porsche satisfaction survey and will not be going back to that stealership. Good luck.

Well-known indie who services and sets up P cars for racing wanted $460. Also has close affiliation with the regional P car club. I took it to the dealer and paid $259.

My dealer charged me 130 bucks (did this just a couple of months ago), they were running a special. I think their none special price was 180 dollars, so 300 still seems on the high side.

Just paid $195 at my high-end tire store this past week for my wife's C2S.

I don't see why center-locks would have any impact on the price of an alignment since the laser sensors attach to the rims while they're still mounted on the car. There are some new alignment machines that actually do them with the wheels off, but I'm not sure why this is better and on those CLs might make a difference.
