See

http://thenextweb.com/apps/2015/01/2...aim-us-police/

for an app that perhaps I have been taking for granted.

It was only a matter of time before police started complaining about this very useful tool. I hope Google stands their ground on this one.

I have a complaint too....they are stalking me with their laser guns. That's a privacy violation and can be dangerous to me.

I use WAZE religiously and love it. Have a red 930 Turbo as my icon.

Google and WAZE need to stand their ground on this thing. It's assenine that cops are claiming you can use this to hurt police. I am sure that if you really wanted to hurt police you just have to go to your local precinct and follow them wherever they are going.

I'm sure this has nothing to do with less tickets being issued, loss of revenues and more folks waving to the cops as they pass by within legal operating speeds...

I use Waze periodically. I think it's a nice app. I also hope that Google stands firm on this one.

I use it a lot. Perfect app except it consumes battery really fast on my Iphone5. As if it was connected to the starter motor....... I have to have it plugged in to the cahrger when driving longer distances but thats not really an issue.

Full support for Google and Waze to stand up for this. To me it's an honest fight - As Police is getting more and more sofisicated - so are the motorists.

To me it is more important to focus on securing that the roads are free of people without driving licences or driving cars (or even worse - trucks) that are not safe and last but not least to focus on drunk driving and promote solutions making drunk driving impossible.

Pretty insincere to make this a police safety discussion when it's purely about revenue.

I get it though, because there's a whole segment of the public that will roll over and accept anything because they 'support the police/troops.'

Such a PATHETIC attempt to ticket more of us and generate more revenue! Ooooh, someone may target us, standing on side of the road! Ridicolous...

I am ALL for taking drunks and dangerous drivers off the road, but 95% of all infractions are simply an extra tax and revenue generating activity for municipalities!

Totally agree regarding it being all about the money. I use it on long road trips and it's fantastic - it's saved my bacon quite a few times.

Love the traffic guidance on Waze. I use it regularly on my commute home from North Beach here in SF to Mill Valley as tourists can cause traffic jams on the way to the Golden Gate bridge. Usually it guides me along the Marina water front and onto the new Doyle Drive. Sometimes it has me cut through the heart of the Marina by Chestnut Street when Lombard Street and the Marina Blvd are backed up. One time it had me cut through Chrissy Field.

Thanks guys ,I just down loaded this app to go with my V1. It's alll about the revenue. Colorado Springs drop the speed limit in town by 10 mph across town and doubled the fines at the same time. And they tried to say it all about safety. Sure I buy that story

Coupla observations:

Waze effectiveness at locating the rozzes: Not good. Just my experiences in the badlands of NJ. Lots of IDs, almost never there.
Waze ergonomics: Awful for a 50+ geezer. I can't refocus far to near fast and the little icons make no sense to me. Then to ID a target, I got to answer a bunch of questions that I can't read......bang! I just wrecked.
Waze as a terrorist tool: Really? What about CB radio? How about your own eyes...... sheesh!

Sorry, not a fan. I keep using it hoping I get the hang of it but I doubt it.... maybe future versions.

Peace
