Brake upgrade for 997.1
If your front spindle has 142mm mounting spread like the red caliper shown in the pictures, your brake upgrade is somewhat limited.
We have caliper adaptor that can convert your 142mm (the red - top) to 225mm (the yellow pccb - bottom)
The good news is RB has a very affordable BBK that allows you to upsize to 380mm (front and rear) using OE calipers - Direct bolt-on, necessary spacer are included:
Front: (380x34)

997.2 is the same as 997 GT3 with 225mm spread, but not quite the same as 991 GT3 in offset and height however we have the knowledge and resource to retrofit all earlier 911 models to the latest 991 GT3 (2012+) spindle.

Wow, I was just looking into brake upgrades for my base 997.1 without having to swap uprights and wheel carriers.
What I was really looking for was an adapter to run OE or aftermarket 6 piston calipers and 350x34mm rotors on the base 997.1 uprights and wheel carriers ... Something like the Brembo GT kit, but less pricey, that allows us to choose our own caliper.
Do you guys make custom rotor/caliper adapters?

Porsche upright caliper mounting spreads:
Front:
225mm - 997.2+ (including 991 GT3)
142mm - 997.1 Turbo and "S" models
130mm - Standard (or base) 997 (05-11) and 996 (99-04) ; Boxster etc.
Rear:
130mm for all 911 (99+)
We have adaptors for converting 130 and 142 to 225mm mt spread for larger 6 pot calipers, but the rotors sizes are 380mm because that's how the calipers are designed for different mt spread and rotor sizes:
Mt spread /rotor size:
130 /330mm rotor
142 /350mm rotor
225 /380mm or larger rotor
380mm rotor kits require 19" or some special aftermarket 18" wheels.
Front:
225mm - 997.2+ (including 991 GT3)

We propose a 380x34mm (or 380x32 like Cup rotor) 6-piston caliper Front/380x30mm 4-piston rear set up.
The only difference between 997.1 Turbo/S and the base models (including 996) is the upright with different caliper mounting spread, which we already have the converting adaptors designed/made.
This set up will bring your 996/997 (base or Turbo/S) up to the same size as the latest 991 GT3 with standard brakes (non pccb).
Rabingbrake upgrade kit is designed for a direct bolt on installation, not only it can improve your brake performance, but also give you that muscular and powerful Big Brake look behind your 19" wheels.
And the best yet is you still retain stock upright, wheel carrier, hub bearing etc. nothing else to buy or change (except you have to make sure you have 19" wheels), save you a lot of money and trouble in swapping to 997.2 upright.
If this is something you have been wanting to do but afraid to carry it out due to the concern of involvement and cost, now is the time.

I like what I'm reading! I have a base 997.1 and would like to purchase my friend's 996 Turbo brakes. Please tell me if you can help me make this all work including the cost of your parts.

We offer economical upgrade rotor kits but they are made for calipers with the same mounting spread as the upright, like this front kit for upgrading to 380mm from OE's 350mm rotors:

The adapters we designed for those kits change your upright both in mounting spread and offset, and they require minimum distance in spread difference and offset for hardware and strength consideration.
Since your OE and Turbo calipers are very similar in offset, and the spread difference in only (142-130)=12mm, so creating a workable adapter is not possible, therefore replace your upright to match the Turbo caliper would be the only way.
If you don't want to change your upright (which is just the beginning of project), like to control your spending, ensure all parts bolted and installed together correctly, with a performance and look improvement, then RB kits should worth your consideration.

My daily wheels are 19" Carrera Classics.
I'd like to run 18s for competition use as 18" < 200 UTQG tires are cheaper and tend to have better availability for most extreme performance or DOT-R tire models.
As such, I do not think 380mm discs will work for me.
I didn't think I could run 34mm wide discs on the OEM base 997 calipers. Or am I mistaken?
