Default PSE tips matte black

Finally did it. Should have done it a long time ago. Looks 1000 times better. I can see why Porsche's sportier models i.e. 991 GTS, GT3, and turbo S all get black tips. Little things that transform the appearance of the car.

How did you do yours? Is it a deep black, or more of a charcoal? I had Darin at Fister do mine in "black." Love them, but they're definitely a dark gray. I agree, the small change makes a huge difference. I also painted my "Carrera S" script a deep metallic gunmetal, almost black. ;-)

I don't have PSE, but I do have matte black tips.

As someone said in another thread, I have a "rattle can" matte black because I used hi temp paint that cost $8 instead of paying $600 for the professional tips. Have had them on the car for about 4 months and they still look freshly painted.

But to each their own.....personally I like the money I saved as I bought other stuff.

I'm amazed that the Plasti Dip held up with the heat. That's great

So how easy is this mod? You just take off the tips and then spray paint, and then put back on?

Also what paint is recommended? I wouldn't want to do Plasti Dip for mine.

Yes....it's just that easy. I think it was a 10mm socket to remove the tips.

I used Rustoleum Hi Temp (2000F) engine paint, three coats spaced apart by about 30 mintues.

Looks great with black rear valance. What bumper has that?

Why would you do Platstic-dip? It holds up very well and you can remove it any time if you didn't like it before putting on a permanent paint.

I didn't even need to take of the tips when doing mine...
