The Sport Classics are beautiful, but pricey and not light. I didn't know they made them in narrow body fitment.

A less expensive option (cast, not forged) that looks similar is the Avant Garde Ruger Classics.

The Ruger Classics looks a little off to me for some reason. I can't put a finger on exactly what it is though....maybe I'm just crazy!

I don't care for the 19" and 20" Fuchs style wheels. I don't think the original Fuchs design has translated well to the new sizes. Suncoast Porsche had two 991 Targas, one black and one white, and they put the Fuch style wheels on both cars and completely ruined the aesthetics of them.

Rotiform? Gack...

Here's to hoping that the stance crowd doesn't infect the 997's like it has the 964 bunch.

If that happens, I'm out of the Porsche world.

I have been considering the real Fuchs set for my C2S but looking at this video it looks to me like the front wheels' center faces (where the propellers are) poke out too far -- makes it look very odd. The classic Fuchs look has the propellers deeply inset and the bright silver outer rim strongly defines the look. The problem is no doubt the brake calipers of the 997 front wheels which must be cleared...

Hmmmmmmm....thinking this will not look too good...

Yea some of the things they have done to slammed 964's is appalling. Especially considering the cars classic looks. Some bitter threads in the last few years over this sort of thing.

e.g....

That is useless save for the fact it makes it simple to know what an imbecile looks like.

I know...

It is the outer edge of the holes that gives the impression that the real Fuch's spokes poke out further. In reality, the sports classics front centers poke out an equal length.

The front spokes are flush with the outer lip.

Have you seen the Magnus Walker Fuchs-influenced wheel?

http://www.52outlaw.com/wheel/

they're available in 18" with aggressive offsets that should fit the narrow 997.

18x9.5 et45
18x11 et45

Personally, I prefer 18" on a 997 over 19 and I think the Fuchs look is better with a little more rubber sidewall.

Also, the wide front with the agressive offset will make the front look a little more deep-dish to match the rear.

I'd like to see a pic of these on a 997!

This is why I like the tapered versions of the modern Fuchs...

Yeah, the Fuchs Felge look like the centers are less deep-dish.

However, it just looks that way due to the radius of the pedals.

If you want more deep-dish in the front you have to go to more aggressive offsets (set the wheel out further front the center of the car).
