Have tried both and would personally only buy w/paddles. They feel intuitive and I don't like the idea of jumping back-forth between Porsche's own (odd) proprietary approach and other car manufacturers' paddles, when switching between manumatic cars.

Have yet to read or hear a reviewer who has preferred the non-paddle setup... wonder if part of the reason they are so adamant (vs. apparently large portion of PDK buyers who get the MF wheel) is because their job is to test drive a bunch of cars... making the ability to just hop in and go from muscle memory more appealing...

Hands down one of my favorite mods.

DCT is another custom wheel maker. http://www.dctms.com/product_ST_PCH.html No personal experience but many happy customers around here.
LOVE that first wheel Sandwedge-- looks great and probably feels even better. I'm going to look into it...

I also like the buttons, able to switch gear with either hand, so one hand can be on the wifey at all times !

Love the heated steering wheel too.

Gason, the pdk paddle wheel has two version one without the sport light and one with. Both will work with all 997.2 pdks, however the lights "sport" cannot be actovated on 09 cars. The 10 up cars can have the light "sport and sport plus" activated via the piwis after installation.

Bumping this thread because I'm looking at PDK wheels and still seeing DCT as the only place 'advertising' 997 wheels (at $1350+core exchange?!)

Anyone tried using a 991 wheel? Or are there others doing core exchange for a meatier wheel and alcantara top/bottom? I love sandwedge's wheel!

I seem to recall seeing a 997 turbo owner putting a 991.2 steering wheel in his car. For me I would like a smaller diameter wheel as my knees are in close proximity to the wheel with the seat at it's lowest. I was going to get a DCT wheel as they are local to me but their wheels are no smaller in diameter, even the flat bottom option isn't. That's at least my impression. With a 991.2 wheel you would lose the electronic read out indication sport or sport plus and launch control.

I prefer the paddles for autocross but actually prefer the buttons for daily driving or general spirited driving... especially with a heated steering wheel.

I put 991.1's paddle wheel on my 997.2, it's a straight swap.

I put the 991.2 multifunction steering wheel in mine. Required an adapter, and the dealer to activate multifunction, but now both multifunction and paddles work perfect 😊

I too like the native "paddles" that allows me to shift up or down without moving my hands at all. I drive in the manual mode so much that this has been a very nice way to keep driving without letting go of the wheel and still with no effort at all or movement to shift gears.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about! I'd love a 991.2 wheel with the multifunction buttons working ~ thanks @Chris 911 !!
