Default Delighted with my Gen2

Hi All,

After selling my 996 911 in November, I had planned to wait until 2015 to find a replacement. But, I suppose I got a little impatient.

I was interested in a few Gen 1 997 S's, however one car I sent for an inspection before buying, and the inspection came back with signs of bore scoring

This completely put me off Gen 1 cars, even though I'd had no issues with my previous two 996's, so I set my sights on a Generation 2 997. I also set a criteria of making sure the car was PDK and had a sports exhaust. This wasn't easy as I thought!

Thankfully this beautiful arctic silver came up for sale, having previously dismissed silver as my first two were silver, I actually fell in love. Silver is easy maintenance and actually does look superb - IMO.

Here's the car in the dealers, 3rd floor of RSJ sports cars near London, industrial Lift to get it down to the ground - cool place and superb service from Joel and Darren.

Gen 2 3.6 Carrera
PDK Double Clutch Transmission
Sound Package Plus
Extended black leather with suede roof lining
Carrera S Alloys refurbished in GT Silver
Sports switchable exhaust
Touch screen PCM3 sat nav
Heated seats
Litronic Lights

Picked it up on Thursday morning, and traveled home with it yesterday. Bit of a nightmare with boats being cancelled and ended up on the day sailing from Liverpool to belfast - 11 hours on the boat after delays!

Stopped for fuel in Surrey

Home and washed this morning

Plans are:
H&R Springs
Paint calipers red
Retrofit Sport & Sports+
Full front end smart skin for stone chip protection
Full G-techniq protection
Drive it

Thanks for looking!

Keith

Very nice looking car. nice options. I wanted silver even though my 996 was silver. Ended up with black. The most difficult color to maintain. Talk about opposites. Enjoy!

Nice car, thanks for sharing. Silver is an easy car to keep looking nice. I like the rearend view a lot but the awesome 997 headlites and turn signals get lost up front w silver cars. I would have to put a darker coating on the headlite covers or something. Just saying😃! Enjoy

Very nice! It appears that your car does not have Sports Chrono. I would suggest that you get the after-sales version installed at your dealer. It transforms the car especially a PDK car.

Beautiful car! Just picked up a set of Carrera S II wheels on craigslist to pair with winter Pirelli Sottozero II's for my silver gen 1 C4. Gonna be creep'n around the ski areas looking like a gen 2 : )

I'm saving up now to get this done for spring :-)

It's down now to about £1.11 per litre. Our gallon is roughly 4.5 litres so £4.54 per gallon so about $7.15

Looks absolutely great. There's something about the 997.2 that just works from all angles.
