Are you aware of the fact that Porsche literature and technical service bulletins call for 19" wheels on cars equipped with PCCBs?

Thanks for the info.
They also specify only N rated tyres.
I choose to ignore that edict also.

cheers

Right...

I understand that. I'm just not sure if the 18" wheels will actually fit over the PCCB rotors. You can ignore Porsche's edict on N rated tires, but if the rotor is too big to fit in the wheel, then you can't ignore that. I don't think they made the recommendation just so that they could sell 19" wheels, but I haven't actually tried to fit 18" wheels over PCCBs so I can't speak from personal experience. I was just passing on the information to be helpful.

I was informed by a dealership tech in Germany that PCCB cars, especially the 4S versions, should have forged or free flow wheels because of greater brake forces, and it is the reason why Porsche recommends their OEM 19s on a 997 4S versus 18s. The 19" Carrera S and the Turbo wheels for the 997 are free flow or forged, respectively, so they meet that spec. Which would imply that if 18s fit, they should be fine as long as they are forged or ff.

sorry, dealer is feeding you bs they probably recommend 19s because most tire shops are idiots and will end up misplacing wheel weights and damaging calipers. cast, forged, it doesn't matter. any wheel you put on your car should meet a safety spec. yes, forged are stronger and lighter (generally) than cast, but it has nothing to do with greater brake forces.
