Hi David,

Thanks for responding……your trip actually inspired mine…..when you took it and I read every post and thought it would be so cool to do that myself even at an advanced age!!:thumb up:

The only issue I had was at the end of the second day as I was approaching Naples….maybe 30 miles out I started to get very tired…..opened the windows (couldn't put the top down as I had a million things in the back).

When I got home I took a quick one hour nap and I was good to go…went out for something to eat and stopped in a bar for a nightcap and was just proud of myself and the car….she looked tired too but sweet and ready to go today after her clean-up!

I'm looking forward to the next 20 years…and maybe another adventure!

Tom

I'm honored to have been a part of the inspiration!

P.S. Advise to the wise: don't look forward to far and focus on the day at the beach!

P.S.S. Why don't your drive that beauty to Rennsport next October?!

I bought my 996 C4S from a private seller in San Bernadino, CA. I lived in Fort Wayne, IN at the time. I flew out to CA and completed the sale, then drove the car home over a two day stretch. It was a great way to get to know the car!

800 miles from Dallas to Denver when I purchased the car. Once I got the seat adjusted to my body it was as comfortable a long driver as the family Odyssey. What really made it special was having my then 7-year old son along. Those two days together changed our relationship. Priceless.

Porsche 911's make perfect road trip vehicles. I find the seats to be the most comfortable of any car I have owned.

I think every owner should pull the covers off of there cars and drive them. They won't melt.

Longest Trip?
That would be difficult, because every trip is timeless.
2o minute commute, or three hour drive to a golf game.
All smiles, and miles.

Philly to LA in my 914. Not quite the same ride as today, but still fun.
