Talking First Post

This is my first post on the 997 forum...

After well over 5 years of salivating over the Porsche 911, and its amazing design and engineering. I have finally pulled the trigger. Wife sure is happy, that I can now shut up about it (or so she thinks... )

What surprised me the most, is how fast, these cars come and go on the market. After loosing two bid offers, I was determined, to not lose out on the next oppurtunity. Although, I was heartbroken over each attempt, each following 911, was just that much better (color option, and features).

I've had her for less then a week, but already put 100 miles on the dash. Yesterday, I saw a fellow 997 driver, and we went tit for tat for 3 miles, untill my exit came (heart racing w/ a huge grin on my face ). She sure has some serious soul!

Needless to say, i'm excited to be apart of the group. I thought my Cayenne Turbo was a gem; little did know the range of potential Porsche has in their lineup.

I introduce to you a low mileage (19k), 2007 Carrera S...

First Mod: Winter Tires... Its gonna snow today, and I can't imagine being without her for 3+ months

Well they do say that the third time is the charm. I felt the same way while trying to zero in on my ride. What I realized was that unless it's exactly what you are looking for, you may hesitate (and that's fine). Looks like one sweet ride (and looks like you have it tucked away for the winter already).

Welcome to the club. Looks like your car was worth waiting for. But bad news for your wife because now the 911 talk is just beginning!

Very nice. I know many here do not like the Lobstah wheels, but they are one of my favorites.

Sure is... and your absolutely right, you hesitate less, when its the right combination your looking for. She's stored away, untill Winter tires come in. Ordering late in the season, so tires are on backorder. Also need to get a clear bra on her... then she'll be ready for the white roads! (donut video pending....)

The wheels are an acquired taste, but only took me 2 days to acquire...

Very nice car! And I know that heart-pumping thrill that you mention.

Now when mod fever starts to set in, be sure to search the forum for lots of good ideas... some pricey and some not. A first suggestion for an inexpensive tweak (~$40) with is to get the European version of the front side marker lights, they are clear instead of yellow (you'll notice the clear ones on most cars posting on here). You can get them from some of our sponsors here such as SuncoastParts, ECS Tuning, VividRacing, etc. It is a standard callout on most new-guy posts, I'm surprised it hasn't already been mentioned!

Velcum & nice ride. The forks are strong & some of the lightest wheels for the 997. Glad you are getting snow/winter tires as you would miss the fun all winter! A
Great car and meant to be driven. Make it your own w some minor mods/changes. The side lights are a definite must. Some black floor mats can hide the winter dirt better and give a nice contrast to the SB interior.

Lobsters have always been one of my favorite wheels on the 997s. I dont usually like non-traditional style wheels but love these and shopping for a set myself. Congrats on the car, very, very nice.
