A few months ago I called an out of state rep and I was quoted $6000 plus for something similar to yours. My car is a 2009 C2S with 35k miles. My CPO also ends in December.

Good move. You can definitely save money on these aftermarket warranties if you shop around. Fidelity is sold my a lot of dealerships and you can buy one from any dealership for any car. Fidelity is a well recognized company. I bought one for my '10 4S to cover it until 1/2019. I think mine is $25 deductible and goes to 100K miles.

You need to be careful where you call because these are highly negotiable. VW dealerships seem to have the best Fidelity Pricing. I did the $100 deductible for an 09 C4S Cab with 9000 mi. If you are lower than 25k miles, then the Fidelity contract will usually beat the other major player: Easy Care. Fidelity has a pricing traunch at <10k miles which makes this contract so much lower than EasyCare whose lowest is <25k.

TPMS are a wear item (batteries eventually die). I think you got lucky, OP, and the Fidelity rep didn't realize what he was authorizing. I suspect he'll be getting a talking to from his supervisor when the month's numbers come in.

Not the case.

I called Fidelity before buying the contract and confirmed that the TPMS is a covered item for the Platinum policies. Two years later, my dealer called for a pre authorization and confirmed coverage. Fidelity has been consistent with that view so there will be no smack down.

Just to add to the TPMS coverage. The Porsche CPO warranty also covers TPMS. One of the sensors on my previous 06 911 slowly died. CPO replaced all four sensors. If the Porsche CPO warranty covers it, then it makes sense that Fidelity Platinum would cover it.

I've had luck with the Fidelity Platinum warranty I got on my 08 MB G500. However, I still feel that you're at the mercy of your dealer/mechanic service provider and the Fidelity rep they send to approve it.

I hade never hear dog Fidelity warranties but after hearing about them here I checked them out. TPMS is not in the list of exclusions for the Platinum warranty:

Platinum Exclusions
UNDER PLATINUM COVERAGE, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS ARE EXCLUDED:
Brake linings, brake drums and rotors, disc brake pads, standard transmission clutch components and assemblies, air bags, solar powered devices, hinges, glass, lenses, sealed beams, body parts and/or panels, trim, moldings, door handles, lock cylinders, tires, wheels, all batteries except Hybrid/EV/High Voltage batteries as listed under Silver Coverage Plan, light bulbs, upholstery, paint, bright metal, freeze plugs, heater and radiator hoses, exhaust system, shock absorbers, audio/security or other systems not factory installed, work such as front-end alignment or wheel balancing, constant velocity joint boots, safety restraint systems, cellular phones, radar detectors, appliances, or vinyl and convertible tops.

To me, $5350 is a hell of a lot of money for the warranty.

List price was $9400. Call around and the cheapest price was $8500. You have to remember when it comes to a Turbo motor, I recently had water pump replaced and that alone with labor was $1100.

Mike showed me the quote for land rovers and they list was 15k.

I had a Land Rover Discovery 4 TDV6, Range Rover Sport and still have a Land Rover LR4. Best SUVs I ever owned/drove and never broke down. After the CPO on my 911 expires I will either trade it in or get a Fidelity Platinum warranty.

I'm glad it's working for you. I've had two recent friends with late model LRs and they continue to express me to me their frustration at how often their cars are in the shop. Seems like a great example of a vehicle that necessitates a warranty.
