Scam alert
I went through this before with a BMW. It was the deal of a lifetime. Guy wanted me to put money in "google wallet" and then he would ship the car to me and if I didn't like it I could get my money back out. The google wallet website he sent me to looked legit. The car was only 3 hours from me so I said I would come get it with cash. He then had emergency business out of the country and could not meet me. After that response I looked into it further and the google wallet website was a fake.
There was a story on rennlist somewhere where a guy bought a 911 for his boss through one of these sales tactics and lost all the money.
I don't know if I want to keep going. I don't need the harassment.

This guy does not have a job or a job that needs all of 1/millionth of a brain cell. Provided this does not take up too much of your time, keep it going, maybe even up and ante and tell him you're catching a flight to Wyoming tomorrow because this is a deal of a life time and ask him for his address & phone number so you can see the car. Tell him you're bringing cash and coming alone

The plot thickens. I just could not resist asking about the location again. Just in case. He emailed me back saying the car is in Wyoming, where he just moved from Virginia. He said he will ship the car to me and he will pay shipping so I can inspect the car. I then have 5 days to approve the car and then I can pay for it if I approve. Or he will pay shipping back.
On one hand I want to think I can get a 997 with 35,000 miles for $25K. The deal of the century. On the other hand I know the next email. It will be to deposit the $25K with a third party who will hold the money until I approve the transaction.
Anyone in Wyoming want to go look at the car? Should I keep playing or let well enough alone?

He sent me a copy of the title. Pics are from march of this year. Should I contact the real James Bosch and let him know?
Anyway - decided to keep going. Will keep you posted. Told him I will fly out to get the car and if it passes then I can drive it home.

He responded quickly. He said I can come there or we can use www.escrow.com as a third party.
What's my next move?

Did you get the person's phone number and talk on the phone?
When buying a used car, you're buying the seller, not the car... something along those lines.....
Ask him to send a picture of the title and the car with today's paper and your name written on it. Also, tell him there's no need for escrow, that if the car is in good shape you can pay him the money directly, after a PPI. Did you run the VIN through carfax?
Trying ic3. Was wondering if that website was for real. Looks kind of cheap. Then when I accept their agreement, it waits 5 minutes and then telsl me the site is too busy and try again in a few minutes after using the back button. I now know the website is real. In 2014 nobody except the federal government has a website that gets overloaded anymore.
Man, you went through ALL that trouble just to confirm it's a scam? It was SCREAMING SCAM from the listing, and if that wasn't 100% clear, his first email just rubber stamped it!
This is ALWAYS the case, you can never see the vehicle, there's always a side story, as soon as you say, hey, I am local, can I come by... he's suddenly MOVED to another state, or his away on business trip, etc... and ANYONE asking you to pay via escrow is a scammer!
STAY AWAY and report him if you can!
