off topic but my thread so I guess it's ok...

why are the values on NADA and KBB so far off from what folks are listing and selling for? Not sure about the pcar market but for my other vehicles (benz, bmw, audi) when I am looking to unload I refer to the trade in values to get an idea of what the dealerships willing to entertain. and its always a 1-4k below that value depending on condition

I know a car is only "worth" what someone is willing to pay, but how much is too much for a 997.1modestly optioned c2s or c4s for that matter?

I have found the same thing, most 'normal' cars like the last two I sold, a Toyota Highlander and a Lexus IS350 - I listed both for KBB PP in good condition and they both sold for about $1000 less or about 5%. And the going market on those cars seems similar.

997s on the other hand that have a KBB value of $40k are usually listed at $50k. Part of that is the KBBs and NADAs dont usually have a good way to measure all the options available on a Porsche. But I'm not sure about trade in values as I typically sell my cars myself because I dont like what the dealers offer.

For Example, KBB PP for a 2006 base with 50k miles is $32.7 and $36.6 for an S. The market is about $5-10 higher than that depending on options.

I got mine for 1 K over what KBB listed a few weeks ago. For my V I got the full trade value that KBB listed. Now when first listed it was 3K over KBB. But it sat for two months too. It's just a business that's how it works.

PASM was standard on all 997S .1 models and has nothing to do with the SC option.
