Default Some help please

I have a 2010 C4S Cab and I replaced the exhaust with a Tubi a few years ago (2011) and will never put the original back on the car……If I were to sell it what's it worth?

Thanks in advance!

Tom

A non-PSE stock exhaust? I would think a couple hundred.

It costs more but is difficult to sell as nly people who may need stock mufflers are those who trade in car back to dealer and need to put it back to stock. Cats do cost way more than mufflers but also, well, not very hot item.

997.2 mufflers are worth more than 997.1 or 997.2 mufflers.

I managed to snag a pair shipped for 300 that I sent straight to FD. It took me over 3-4 months to find them. Prior to that not many wanted to sell for under 400.

So, I think maybe 350 depending on how long you are willing to wait. I never saw any go for a couple of hundred and they hardly ever crop up for cheap on ebay. In fact most ebay folks seem to think they're worth about 400 a piece.

If you need to move them chances are FD would want them.

They wanted $2200 for an OEM catalytic converter on my old 996 when it went out and that is for one side, very expensive, there are some legal regulations regarding selling old cats though so you may want to look into that

Are we talking the full system including headers and cats? That's a different story. I was speaking about just the two side mufflers.

Pricing of this stuff is really odd..... you never really know. Try putting an ad on the for sale forum of your local Porsche Club website.... this stuff seems to move. Also try your local indy repair shop as my indy has turned into a kind broker for odd and ends.

I purchase a set of 18" Porsche take off wheels for winter use and thought I would have to pay through the nose..... I got them for what I believed was an amazingly low price... he was trying to sell them for nine months. Go figure....

Peace

Hey Tom. This ^ is a good idea but, if shipping costs aren't a problem try the ad in CA. At 7 years old cars need to have an emissions inspection every two years and it seems like people who mod their cars or buy modded cars from out of state get caught out. California regs on exhaust mods can be draconian (before the actual test there is a visual inspection and most, if not all aftermarket exhaust systems cause a car to fail; there may be one that is permitted actually but I can't recall). Anyway, every now and then you'll see people here looking for a stock exhaust so they can pass emissions in CA so there must be a market here.

Good Luck!

Tom.....I sold the stock mufflers from the -09 C4S for $300 plus shipping which was an outrageous $180. Didn't take long on RL classifieds. Gundo hack project.
