Every forum has a SEARCH ****, never fails. Usually, the SN posts just lead to acrimony...nothing really positive comes out of it. As to what exactly motivates a SN ...I don't know.

This is a great forum and is immensely informative.

What I find frustrating especially lately is that people just seem to throw out questions that pop up that are invariably:
1) answered in the manual
2) have been covered many many times on this forum or on others which are easily findable with a google search

So my conclusion is usually that people are too lazy to do their own homework. They throw it out on the forum and just wait for people to respond. Not usually a big deal and it usually results in threads that have some entertainment value (like this one or the "Do I Need to Add Oil" thread) where the OP gets all high and mighty and offended and then starts throwing out names (as a User after 4 posts lol - great way to become part of the community btw)

The douche search ****

You sir are an a hole. Every thread that is posted has you coming onto it about "did you use the search button", "RTFM". Seriously STFU if you have nothing to add to the conversation. I am guessing most folks enjoy reading the threads on here and may learn a thing or two about our cars. Yes it probably been covered somewhere on another thread but what difference does it make to you if someone asks again. Get a life, stay out of others people's threads if you have nothing of value to add.

I went with Car Graphic sides and Sharkwerks centre bypass, I love the deep sound, burbles, volume and no drone.

This is coming from a 997.2S owner so I thikn there is a slight difference with 997.1S but after much debating I went for a TUBI system and my only regret is not having done it sooner!

Ya and that was a real valuable contribution from yourself

I added rtfm/search on 2 threads to try and remind relatively new members (or lazy old ones) to pls do their homework. This, in my view, added a lot more value than your little name calling rant

Part of the problem with the search function is that it is littered with many many repeat posts. If this was at least reduced to some extent then it may assist in future searches

I love reading most of the threads here but at times tire of half assed questions that were not obviously researched. You don't? Congrats.

For those of you who have an S model car (PSE or not) and went to the FISTER route, what did you use for the end of the tailpipes? My understanding after looking at the FISTER exhaust, is that there is only one output, whereas the PSE exhaust on the S models have 2 outputs.

Just wondering....

Is there something out there similar to the Sport Exhaust package?

What are some of the brands out there? I only one I really know about is Fabspeed but it appears the reviews are mixed on how good their product is.

Is there any danger of installing aftermarket exhaust? Sensor problems on the car, and problems that could happen, anything to really worry about? Don't want install an aftermarket exhaust and then have new problems with the car.

Looking for something I can drive on a daily basis and not melt my ears.

Thanks for the help.

Did you end up finding an exhaust for your 911?

I have Tubi cans on my current 997S. I've had a 997 with Fister, 996s with Eisenmann, Cargraphic, Fister, and Fabspeed, and a 987S with a full Fabspeed (headers, cats, muffler). Of all of those exhaust set ups on water cooled Porsches, my absolute favorite sound is from the Fister mod.

You can send the cans to Fister, in my case they were seriously behind schedule so I pulled my cans and took them to a local custom exhaust shop. With a few pictures that I printed from the forums they did a fantastic job recreating the Fister mod with SS tubing for a grand total of $60. If you have a local shop that does true custom work, try going this route. For a good shop it's pretty easy to do.

+1. The sound of the Fister exhaust is perfect. A friend of mine has the fister installed on his 997s and I love the tone of it. The only thing that I can think of that sounds better would be a GT3 RS at redline

Thinking about Fister exhaust also, any opinions about the ceramic coating. Not interested in cosmetic appearance but reducing heat sounds like a good idea.

I'll bite. People who suggest "search" or RTFM are a-holes. If you don't have anything nice to say STFU. If it bothers you, move on.

My wild guess is that its mostly cosmetic.

Lower heat might mean more HP, along the lines of 1/4 to 1HP. You might get the same bump in HP by adding a go fast sticker.

I had mine coated but doubt it makes any difference other than cosmetic.

Fabspeed Porsche 997 Sport Cat X-Pipe:

Our Fabspeed Sport Cat X-Pipe makes a solid +25whp and +32ft-lbs of torque. Our Fabspeed Sport Cat X-Pipe uses a German manufactured 200-cell tri-metallic HJS Sport Catalytic Converters that are easily the best on the market. The best and most unique fact about our Sport Cat X-Pipe is that it is modular, so it gives you the ability to swap out the HJS 200-Cell Cats for our Fabspeed Catbypass Pipes. They are held securely together by Accuseal Clamps. We were able to swap out our Fabspeed Sport Cats with our Fabspeed Catbypass Pipes on our Chassis Dyno without using a lift.

Our 997 Sport Cat X-Pipe is fabricated from cast stainless steel with a laser cut window in between the X. The X-Pipe creates a vacuum that helps increase exhaust velocity through the X portion of the piping. The radius in the X-Pipe is CNC Mandrel Bent and is not over cheated which produces a smooth flow to allow the most efficient exhaust flow possible. All hardware is included for install. We provide (2) Composite Gaskets, (2) Small Button Head Allan Screws, (6) M8x35 13mm Bolts, (6) 13mm Washers, (6) 13mm Copper Lock Nuts, and (2) 2.25” Accuseal Clamps.

Feel free to PM me or email me: anthony@fabspeed.com for inquiries or more info on some great pricing!
