Default TPMS

In my 05 C2S, I see an indicator for 'tire' I guess. Wanted to get TPMS installed. Talked to the dealer technician and he said TPMS was not supported until 2007 and my instrument guage does not support it. Wanted additional opinions? Any one have older than 07 cars that have TPMS? Thanks in advance.

TPMS was mandatory beginning in MY 2007 and it was listed as an option (option 482) in the MY 2006 Order Guide. I didn't see TPMS offered as an option in the MY 2005 Order Guide. To add (if possible) would be expensive - you would need TPM sensors for each wheel (not too difficult) but the system has a receiver/transmitter in each wheel well and then all the wiring etc. and interface to get the info to the dashboard.

Hey guys thanks for the help. Based of your input, it appears attempting to retrofit a TPMS system to an 05 997 would be a pain. I was curious as the instrument cluster shows a 'tire' indicator and I thought all I was missing was the TPMS sensors and configuration :-(
