Default I like you opinion on a new Exhaust System

I have been going back and forth about what Exhaust System I should get and I would like to hear what other people have.

I am going between Brombacher or Fabspeed.

Does anybody have experience with either of these ?

Also thinking about a new Cold Air Intake (also from Fabspeed)

I am sure other systems are out there so if you have something that you like please again post your feedback.

thank you

I went back and forth and was looking at those systems. After I heard the Tubi in person I went that way and I dont regret it for a second. I love the Tubi system. Tame and slightly mean at idle and amazing when you step on it.

Forget about the CAI - just an expensive noisemaker - no power benefit. All things being equal go with the better vendor...in this case FVD.

I literally just picked my car up for some service and a Fister exhaust system install. It's awesome, nice burble and much improved. It is not for horsepower but strictly for sound. For 300 bucks it's honestly hard to beat.

Any vendor that shows you ridiculous and unobtainable dyno graphs I'd stay far, far away from. You are not going to pick up any significant horsepower no matter what you go with. Do what you are doing for sound. The CAI is a complete waste of money, will not get you any horsepower and you will fail smog(if you have to smog your car). It is a complete, and I mean complete, waste of money.

I looked at a car with about 20k worth of mods, half of that was into appearance, and other half into stuff that you are mentioning. This car literally picked up something like 11 horsepower, including a tune. Would not pass a smog test and was extremely unimpressive. It had some exhaust drone and was a bit annoying to be honest. This car was modified by a large and established speed shop. They admitted these cars really only pick up nominal horsepower for large amounts of money. I opted out despite the discounted price and picked up an unmolested car. These are not V8's where 7k will buy you a huge supercharger and 200 horsepower.

Just go into it with eyes wide open. You will not pick up 40 horsepower. You will spend a bunch of money for little gain. If you are just after the sound look at the Fister D cans and sharkwerks bypass...you can even do a combination of the two for some really awesome sound. But again, it's just for the sound.

Search the forums. Lots of information on the vendors you mention, and there's one from whom I would not buy anything.

I saw tubi mentioned earlier, the system sounds amazing but it's a little pricey. Contemplating adding it to my car but so far so good with my fisters

I have the Fisters in titanium....great sound at idle/up to about 3500rpm....then it gets really "nasty" in a good way as rpms climb.

With the ceramic coating it has also reduced engine compartment temps as well....not sure by how much but when you lift the engine lid the temp difference is noticeable.

$515 for the pair plus $55 install at my Indy.

Pretty happy at the moment!

thank you to all of you for the feedback I appreciate this very much. I am still new to the Porsche experience. I am really more after the sound not so much on HP.

I guess I really need to do more research and reading what I can find on this matter

again thank you very much

I am also looking for a good exhaust for a better sound. I will likely go with the Fister.

How are others doing with going to an indy exhaust shop and getting the Gundo Hack instead?

Other 997 Rennlisters posted about a second exhaust modification that further improved the sound along with the Fister--I did a search but couldn't find it--can anyone remind me what it was?

Thanks,
Mike

Is you car a daily driver?

Do you mind a drone sound at cruise?

I do not know about the OP and I do not want to HiJack the thread. Maybe this info is helpful.

I have a 997.1 T4S--daily driver, I do not want a drone.

Out of curiosity, why is Porsche Sport exhaust so expensive to put on a car? Is it better than the aftermarket exhausts?, because the price difference is quite large.
