Default Tune2air WMA1000 issue

I have seen a few posts where others have had good luck using a Tune2air in order to stream audio in a 997.2, so I thought I would give it a try.

The issue I have is the audio is not steady, don't really know how to describe it accurately. It sort of pauses for milliseconds and then continues, this happens a couple of times per minute. Very annoying.

Customer support from the company seems almost non existent. The website says the firmware is able to be upgraded, yet there is no upgrade files available on the firmware download tab. I have tried the "contact us" page and have yet to receive a response. Hoping a firmware upgrade might help the issue.

Just wondering if anyone else has had or heard of such a problem and has had any luck correcting it. At this point I consider this $100 wasted.

I have the stuttering with my iphone 5 and the tune2air. However on a recent 200 mile trip, I had zero stutters. I can't tell if an update to the iphone helped, if the cell coverage had something to do with it, or something else entirely. I am not a believer in things fixing themselves, but til my next trip.......we'll see.

The firmware update process is ridiculous, you have to email them, register with your serial number, jump through various hoops, etc.

Anyway, I've got one in my wife's GL450. She gets occasional stutters when connected with her iPhone 5. The firmware update did not fix this. All of my Android phones work flawlessly (Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and S5, LG G2, others I might be forgetting, I like phones).

Indeed I am running from an iPhone 5s running version 7.1.1 and am unable to upgrade due to a work application that is yet to be tested on 7.1.2 (although it certainly should work). I have the stutter issue on both streaming from cell and from loaded songs, so that takes cell reception out of the equation.

So glad to hear that a firmware upgrade didn't help

I has an iPhone 4s the only time I get a skipping in the music is when I have the the phone paired simultaneously to the Tune2Air and to car phone as part of the Porsche Nav system. I wrote to them and they had me do somethings but didn't fix the issue.

Just paired to the Tune2Air sounds great.

New Tune2Air software, new iPhone 6, or new car may fix dual Bluetooth pairing / skipping issue

Thanks Rob, I will unpair from PCM and see if that helps, I hate talking on the phone while I am driving anyway and usually don't answer!!

Turned off the BT to the PCM today for a two hour road trip...this seemed to work, no stuttering of the audio at all. Further testing to be done, but for now this seems very promising!!

In my Audi I've had luck by turning off wifi and then connecting to tune2air.

I had the same issue with my tune2air and I found this blog explaining the issue. Your solution was correct. The stuttered sound appears because another device Bluetooth signal interferes with tune2air. This blog explain quite well all the issues with tune2air. Smart World Company / FAQ

I am using it with iPhone 5 with the latest upgrade.
Also have the stuttering issue sometimes worse than others for some reason.
And sometimes when I go in through 'source' the iPod option is missing?
It nearly works but I think it has to go back too unreliable.

Has anyone had more luck using with iPhone 6?

It's no better with the iPhone 6 unfortunately. If anything the stuttering is worse. I just disable the bluetooth connection with the phone, but to be honest I don't listen to music much in the car. About 50% of the time the PCM doesn't see my phone anyway. I wish there was a better option than the Tune2Air.

I started a thread recently https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ing-audio.html because I have the same issues with my Tune2Air. There were a few suggestions but nothing "plug and play".

Still dismayed that a model 2012 Porsche doesn't have the capability to stream music and provide hands free Bluetooth as a standard option with the audio system. Kia's have been doing it for years.

My somewhat compromised solution for my Note 2 to allow phone calls (I must support customers world wide 24/7/365 but seldom get called) and music in my 2010 4S was to use the Bluetooth for the phone and the AUX input for music and Waze. Occasionally Waze notifications will kick off the phone, but that is due to the Android world rather than the interface. Other than having to plug in the AUX cable after I drop the phone into the charging cradle, this has actually been a pretty good "fix."
