Default New member! Glad to be here!!

Just purchased a '06 Carrera S coupe. 22,000 miles..So far... Love it!!!

Couple of questions right out of the block.. I read that all S's have the M97 engine, yet my COA states a M96 engine. What am I missing? Build date of 10/05.

Also, tensioner rattling at start up, whether engine is warm or cold. Goes away pretty quickly... Normal??

I assume I have the larger, more robust IMSB. Have been reading extensively on the subject of the IMSB failures...

Bought a bumper-to-bumper warranty...

Looking forward to spending time here!

Not really. The SC belongs to my son. I restored it and gave it to him when he graduated college. The Vette is my long term project. Highly modified.

Fun with M96 vs. M97

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ight-dope.html

M97 = S (355+ HP)

M96 = Base

Is your car an actual S?

Well that's now clear as mud.... Here's the COA...the VIN decoder also verifies the car as an S-model..CARFAX verifies as well...

Congrats! Just don't speed -- well, at least not TOO much -- in those hyper-bright colors.

Congrats on the car! I keep thinking we need to get all the WA folks together for a meet up! Love GH and we should take a trip out there and come "explore" the fine streets of GH in style!
