Default Side decals on 997, yes or no?

Just wondering but do any of you have door decals installed on your 997? A friend suggested it and I'm very much on the fence about a couple of types. The first indicating the model designation on the door which are sold by suncoast.

The other's which just say Porsche on the door.

Or ones which mimic the GT3 flag on the door.

Heres a pic of my Targa 4, would any of these work?

I too have been toying around with the idea of side decals as my car is just so red, it almost needs something to break it up, but I can't convince myself it would look good enough...

KJ Studios also offer a wide range of side decals;

Decals can be removed if you don't like the look so experiment if you can't decide.

That's exactly what I thought. So I decided to add some stripes on mine.

i like the black stripes, they look very cool.

I personally don't like any stripes which include the word "Porsche"
It's not like this is the most iconic car in the world and everyone knows what it is in the first place ;-)

Your car is lovely. I would leave it as-is.

I like high contrast like the first two links

https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?&id=HN.6...d=1.9&rs=0&p=0

and this

http://www.kistudios.com/images/gt3/...-GT3-004-1.jpg

but not this so much

http://www.bygonedecals.com/sites/de...ct_full/p1.jpg

in both the high contrast pics, the wheels are also contrasting which i really like. I don't think i'd like either of them as much if the wheels weren't also done.

Try it and see what you like.

I have the "Carrera S" on my sides… it made, in my opinion (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), a dramatic change from just being plain Arctic Silver. I guess it depends on car colour but, in my case, it was well worth it!

That looks good!

The GT3 checkered flag decal looks too 70s for me, but on a GT3 it does look right.

I also toyed with the idea of doing a racing stripe over the top of the vehicle in flat red.

My car is very visually boring... silver calipers, 18s, gloss black (no metallic), C2...

"thankfully" it needs and it getting repainted this winter and I think I'm going to add the big Carerra Script in Guards Red, and refinish the calipiers to match... just needs SOMETHING to break up the otherwise yawner exterior.

I kinda like that simple stripe as well. Might look good on my car in silver. Has anyone done a stone guard which isnt clear or black? Perhaps a silver stone guard would be visually appealing?

I think if you're over 18, the scripts etc. are silly

I wanted to add contrast to my black car, as well as tie in the red "S" on the rear badging. It also accentuates (IMHO) the red calipers.

As an earlier post mentioned, you can always remove the decal if you don't like or tire of it.
