I know hurricane region is very active and they do a lot of drives up to the mountains. Are you going to VIR for the GT Le Mans race ? Close drive for you.

Why not organize a drive of your own without PCA? There are plenty of members here in the Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh area. You are about 2.5 hours from one of the best driving roads on the east coast. HWY 421 between Mtn. City TN. and South Holston Lake.

The drives organized by PCARTOURING are not PCA sponsored drives, only about 40-50% of cars belong to PCA on our drives. For many reasons it is simpler not to have PCA associated with the drives. We started out with 5 cars two years ago, now have over 200 cars in our data base, purely by word of mouth. We do drives every 6-8 weeks with 10-40 cars on each drive. Cars from 356s to new 991 GT3s. Highly recommend organizing drives yourselves.

I'm on the board of my PCA Region. Wind is correct. PCA would require insurance for an official drive like this. Easier to do it independently.

Hello Braking Bad,

Very new to the "P" community. Haven't even posted the obligatory pictures! Haven't met any like minded souls yet nor discovered many good driving roads. Hoping to change all that soon.

Niner,

Thinking about the VIR event and the Porsche corral. Never been there and will be looking into it. Anybody else going? Is Saturday good, or, if you have to choose only one, is Sunday "the" day?

Regards.

I don't know what your schedule is like but, the next time I head up to the Mtns. for a drive I'll give you a shout.

This video shows a short section of the road I mentioned above in case you want to check it out on your own sometime.

Missed it again due to other plans. One of these days I'll make it out.

I wish the cruise didn't have a fee. I've been driving those roads for many years without paying anyone.
