Default North Georgia Mountain Porsche Drives

On Saturday our PCAR Touring Group did a 170 mile run in North Georgia with 32 Porsches. Atlanta > Chatsworth > ElliJay > Blue Ridge > Morganton > Dahlonega (Wolf Mountain Winery for Lunch & Wine). We do these runs every 6-8 weeks. One of our guys shared his GoPro video on a stretch of GA 52/2 between Chatsworth and Ellijay, GA. Road runs through part of the National Forest in North GA. Notice the sound of the group leaving the MAPCO station in Chatsworth, with 32 sport exhausts turned on, there was quite the sweet sound of Porsches in the North Georgia Mountains on Saturday.

Check out the video....

I picked up my C2S cab earlier this year in Greenville SC and drove to Blue Ridge, where my cousin owns a micro brewery. My inaugural drive was top down, PSE blaring through the Chattahoochee National Forest. You are very luck to have these fantastic roads in your back yard!

Looks like fun. Is anyone in North Carolina planning something like this?

I live in FL now too and moved here from Atlanta and am still tied to the Peachstate region - makes me homesick for the roads there. As was said by another Floridian - nuttin like that here! I know how much fun that was - it's stuff like this that almost makes me want to move back. Thanks for sharing Cosmos!

Next time you guys, next time. If I wasn't in Mexico, i would have been there. Good times.

No offense but I'd rather be sitting on the beach, (like I am now,) than blasting through the N. Ga mountains.

Wish I'd have known about this. I picked up my new to me C4S on Friday in Louisville. Spent Friday night in Highlands and was also driving those roads on Saturday AM southbound...

Any chance you can share the route instructions? I'm making a trip to SC and another to NC and might incorporate it into one of them.

Send me a PM on where you want to get to in either NC or SC and from where. Also, how many days.

I have the turn by turn. If you want I can e-mail them to you. Credit goes to David H. of P-Car Touring who did a wonderful job of planning the route... Though I'm sure he'd be flattered that others want to join and use it. Great guy.

The first 2/3's of the G to H run was AMAZING. The last portion was great, but was heavily use by cyclists. Keep a close eye out the entire way for those guys. I ended up getting separated from the group (spent too long at the Dunkin Donuts at "G"). When I got on the final leg it was wiiiiide open and a great ride, but near the end I almost put her in the guardrail because an idiot in an F-150 coming the other way decided to pass a cyclist in a blind turn. Nothing like coming around a corner and staring at a big FORD emblem. Quick reactions and Porsche handling for the win! haha Even my passenger was like "Niiiiccee"

Hello niner,

I am in the Greensboro/Burlington area. Trying to see which PCA chapter might be a better fit for me. The group out of Raleigh seems to have more activities than the Greensboro group. Open to suggestions though. Could likely fit in anywhere.

Regards.
