Aftermarket brake wear sensor?

The sensor is still plugged into the cable harness. It's just not attached to the brake pad. Since it never wears down to create on open circuit, it never trips the warning light. This is a pretty common setup for the track guys who change out brake pads frequently.

i got one in from amazon and it is a little short. i'm thinking of cutting the wire and splicing it in.
i put both of the sensors back on the pads and it appears to be holding. the clip is still there but outer part of the sensor chipped off.
fyi- when trying to remove the sensor i found out that yanking the sensor out works much better than prying with a screw driver. the screw driver chips it since it is plastic.
