Default Volcano Grey touch paint... I found it...

So i've been cleaning up TT Surgeon car since i picked it up a couple of weeks back. one of the things that drove me nuts is the lack of interior touch up paint. i found the paint for the door handles thanks to members on this board. I wasn't happy with the scuffs on the back seat and looked high and low to find touch up paint... After Eric@bumper said it wasn't possible I almost gave up. I spoke with a paint shop and they said bring the car in and I can look at some paint chips. Afterwards, the lady their brought her color match camera outside and took some pictures. She said the machine could only generate a 78% match. She's been working there for years so she said she would make me a custom batch. Well guys after about an hr of making sure the recipe was right , It is close to a 90% match IMHO. The paint that she used is for interior so therefore no clear coat is required. I'm using PPG Ultra 2000 which is the same paint that goes on Lambo, Porsche and Ferrari. The stuff is pretty expensive but to finally be able to match IHMO is well worth it.

Would anyone else be interested in getting some? I bought 8 oz of the stuff and really only need about an 1 oz. I'm going to get some finger nail polish bottles and would be willing to help out fellow P cars for $30 an oz shipped. Here are the pictures:

Thanks,
Sid

i'm going to go over the gouges with a couple of more coats to get her to fill in the gouge but so far it looks pretty darn good. make sure the seat is clean and small paint brush seems to be the best.

Seems like you can start up a side business selling this stuff.

Lucky for me, my seat backs are leather and have no marring. What volcano grey finish I do have is flawless (knocks on wood). But I'm making a mental file of this thread should the need ever arise.

I just want to give a little back to the p car community for helping provide so much info when I was searching for my 997. Looks like I got 2 bottles sold so I only have a couple left.

Thanks - Sid

I could really use a bottle if it's still available.

What does one use to touch up scratches on the interior black plastic trim, around the inside door handles and locks for example?

FN RIGHT!!! i just touched up the rings around my gauge and sure enough it is VOLCANO GREY!!!! had a chip in my gauge i guess it was from the installation of tooki microphone. the best part is since it has it own flex agent since it is interior paint so now my stuff is looking good. i should have taken a before picture.

Thanks,
Sid

I use small paint brush that i send with a bottle. the bottles themselves are finger nail polish bottles and they have a brush inside of them. I only have enough for 3 bottles left. I just ordered the empty ones from china. if you want one just paypal me suprastar@sidtechs.com $30 for one bottle shipped. make sure funds are marked as gift to help us both avoid the 3% surcharge. Going to take a week before the nail bottle gets here from China.

I had this bright idea one day when i went to my body shop. My painter friend gave me this application tip for super fine rock chips. It's actually a dental tip that looks like a tooth pick with a piece of cotton. I found 100 of them one ebay for $15. That works great for small spots. As for the seats, i use a fine tip paint brush. for the dash i used a q-tip. Make sure you shake up the paint. There is over 8 different colors that go into the make up of this paint and i notice that the metallic will settle at the bottom.
