How fast does it go?
Seems like everyday when i pull up at a gas station someone looks over, says "nice car", and then asks "how fast does it go".
My stock answer is "Faster than i can drive".
What's yours?

Was out for a Sunday morning drive on the Capital Beltway this morning. Looked down and I saw 105 mph. Ooops. The car wasn't even breathing heavy.
Unfortunately you can't really push it too hard here in DC.

"With me in it?"
In the early '90's, I was working in Switzerland with a German firm in Bavaria. A meeting was called in Germany, so I and a colleauge traveled to Munich for the meeting. As it was winter time, all the rental cars were shod with snow tires with a warning label on the dash to not exceed 120kph.
The meeting adjourned to travel the German firm's factory about 45 minutes away. As the chief engineer had just gotten the newly released 964 C4, I advised my colleauge, Mike, to ride to the factory with Viktor in the 911. Later on the autobahn, I saw a white speck approaching at a very high closing rate. I caught a glimpse of Mike in the passenger seat, white as a ghost, with both hands on the dash.
Later, when I arrived at the plant Mike glared and said, "You S@B, don't you ever do that to me again. Do you have any idea how fast that lunatic was driving." So I turned to Viktor and asked how fast he was driving. Very matter of factly, Viktor replied, "267kph". I followed up and asked why he was doing 267kph. With a quizzical look, he drolly replied, "Because it won't go 268kph".

Book answer is 186 mph (cab w PDK) and 188 mph manual coupe! I've been to 176 and it is a bit scary to be honest. I usually just say "fast enough" and handles corners like it is on "rails"!

I knew a guy who knows a guy with a 06 C2S that opened it up one time and took it ups to 253Kms, pretty much 150 Mph. The front end became VERY (scary) light and he thought he was going to lift off. 186 Mph? I am not sure I would want to take it up there. These cars are way more fun driving in the hills with the twisties.
I say, "On which track?".
I have been to 130... which feels better than 90 does (90-100 feels light and squirelly). Not sure if it is the Aerokit, but it sure feels glued down above 100. The steering has actual resistance, which is nice.
Someone asked me if I have been to the local drag strip. I honestly try to explain what sports cars are and what sports car and road racing is. Most don't mind learning.

140 mph on the back straight at Road Atlanta. Car was very composed, not skittish or light at all. Was still learning the track. My car and my driving would probably max out at 150 on that straight.
