Considering a 2011 911 GTS
#16
I have a GTS cab and it feels nearly the same as driving the coupe as far as body tightness (I compared both before making my decision to purchase the cab). The GTS cab has a bit more of a forgiving suspension compared to the GTS coupe which works out well for me driving on public roads.
I really like the GTS cab, and for me, it's definitely a keeper.

Unless you steal it at a super deal, I would suggest you pass on this one with accident history. Remember it will cost you when you sell it in future. If the seller can prove with evidence that the damage was just say, a bumper replacement, or slight body panel repair, you may then consider using this to negotiate for a good deal.

First post here, but I've been lurking for awhile. Some really great knowledge on this forum.
A little about me - I'm a transplanted Texan living in Scottsdale AZ. Work in healthcare. I'm finally in a position to own one of these great cars, and have pretty much settled on an '11 or '12 gts, or possibly a used turbo.
Car would be used for work commute a couple days a week and a very occasional track day possibly.
Currently have a '13 Ford Raptor that I track on the dirt at Wild Horse Pass here in Phoenix, but the asphalt track always draws my eye....just need a car for it LOL.
There is a 2011 GTS convertible available here locally asking $79k
Is there anything I should be looking for in these cars?
Anyone in my area willing to help out?
As you can tell I'm a total Porsche noob.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Of course I'm biased.
Good luck with your search.

Thanks for all the input. I'm heading there tomorrow. Will try to look into details on the prior damage, but I figure it was probably nothing major. The dealer says if it was frame damage, etc, it would have been noted on Carfax. Most likely it was bumper or rear panel damage. We'll see! If they are willing to come down significantly on asking, it may be worth it!

Car is mine later this week. Took a paint meter to the entire vehicle, the only area out of spec was the rear bumper. I'm figuring bumper repaint = no big deal. Agreed on $74k, which seems like a good deal. Pics later. Car is currently on hold with deposit

TX, I'm confused how your original post avatar has the pic of your (this car) in your driveway "before" you decided to buy it? GTS cab is an awesome car. Just hope you got ventilated seats on that Black on black 911! Otherwise, your *** will not like it Enjoy!

For sure got the vented seats. AZ is way too hot to not have em, so my *** with be happy! LOL
Loving the car so far, gotta say i really do like the naturally aspirated motor as compared to the Turbo. Just my preference.

Here's the build sheet for anyone interested (came with more goodies than I think the dealer even realized. I asked them to track down a build sheet after agreeing on a price - they had to call Porsche to get it as they didn't have one in hand )
