It's official. I hate my seats.
I really prefer my the sports seats in my old 987.1. Now with the 997.2 I have the comfort memory lumbar nastiness. They suck. I don't know what makes them suck but they do. There's no two ways about it.
I don't think it's the shape as I theoretically should be able to adjust them every which way. It must be that they are somewhat softer. After a couple of hours they make my sciatic nerve go a bit crazy. Ok, I'm exaggerating somewhat but they really are much worse than my previous seats.
Oh well. I'm on the hunt for sport or sport adaptive seats now. Anyone else hate the these seats?

The standard seats can be uncomfortable on long rides for certain people. I bought a $260 seat insert (just for long rides) then drove my car on a ten-day trip to the left coast, pain-free. As usual, I left the store cussing them under my breath for their ridiculous pricing, but when I returned home I told the salesman (Relax the Back Store) that it's the only thing they've sold me that they didn't charge enough for. Like pure gold for my back.
I don't use the insert for short, city drives.

Me Too!!!!
Me too!!!! I thought my condition was just worsening.
Despite having these "wonderful" Adaptive Sport Seats, I fall into pain after about 2.5 to 3 hours behind the wheel. I actually have to pull over and walk around a bit.
I am trying all kinds of different positions etc.... and have not found the best settings..... I can say that widening the lower seat bolsters to their max setting seems to help although I think that just lessens the irritation but not the cause. Another tip is constantly pushing yourself back on the lower cushion into the back panel helps also.
Any tips by those of us who have disc problems appreciated!!!!
My standard 2000 Boxster S seats were fine for long trips.... used to drive Philly to Atlanta and back many times straight through without any issues. What the heck is it about these seats that trigger the pain?!?!?! They should not do this.
Peace

Height/weight appropriate. I like that.
150-155 lbs and 5' 10". Like I said, the sports seats in the Cayman were great. These things just feel too soft. I really don't think it's the shape or the bolsters. Perhaps that people that drove it for 30k miles prior to me were on the heavy side and softened them up nicely.
Could just be that after 3 months I still haven't figured out how to adjust them but I doubt it.
