I love my bucket seats. No adjustability, but lots of support and very comfortable once you are strapped in.

+1 on adaptive seats... so much better than my wife's Lexus. I take long drives(4 hrs+) without my sciatic acting up in the 997 MT. My back is toast after 2 -3 hrs in wifey's car(GX-470). FWIW... nobody touches/changes my seat settings once I have it dialed in. I don't trust the memory settings/feature to get it back to how I like it.

I've had 2 back surgeries for herniated discs (L5-S1) before buying the Porsche and let me tell you,
the adaptives are awesome.
Never ever an issue. Even when sport suspension is on!

I have found that raising the seat cushion and sitting with the back almost straight up is better on my back with the basic multi function seats.

I have manual-adjust sport seats and this is what I do.

3300 miles in the first 15 days, longest days were right about 600 miles... not as good as my '13 535i M Sport (zomg, so good!) but not bad at all. (also not as good as my 2013 JK Wrangler, but that's an apples-to-lingonberries comparison.

I have much more compassion for others with back pain or sciatic for that matter after being rear ended. Result. Fractured vertabrae and compression of T4,5 and 6.

I'd pull your seats and swap them out. I've done it before. Every seat isn't the best for every guy! My wife says I'm nuts when she catches me doing something like this with a perfectly good set of seats, wheels etc. If you don't get it, you just never will! Good luck and swap out this seats. Save your 911 seats, wrap them up in plastic so when you sell your 997 your seats will have less wear and look amazing.

Injured my back during hockey resulting with sciatica pain. My 911s have all had standard seats and have never given me a problem. Sorry to hear your seats are giving you pain but the 911s have always been the best seats ever for me.

Like pure gold for my back.

I don't use the insert for short, city drives.
What seat insert? Porsche made? Any link?

What is the difference between adaptive sport seats and sport seats? Are sport seats not as good?

Thanks

Adaptive sport seats are electric for all adjustments, with memory. They also have inflatable bladders for the seat and rear cushion bolsters that let you set the seat to hug you just right.

Note: The air bladder adjustment is not memorized by the seat memory.
